Having used a small pick up as a daily many years ago. I'd keep it as a van.

Unless its a king cab, Pick ups are the most useless practical vehicle ever.

looking good so far :)

BTW I noticed in your recent videos, that you tend to use the selfie camera for recording your videos, just curious what thats about? (is it so you can easly see what the camera is seeing via the phones screen?)

I ask because normally the back camera on Phones is of much higher quality then the selfie camera, and I was thinking especially with your focus issues in the 2CV lock video, if you used the rear camera things may focus a bit better etc :)

Yes, exactly that. Have a new camera arriving this week hopefully...

A lick of Silver Wheels on those steelies and on the exhaust, followed by some tyre black shine and she'll look mint.

I have never blacked a set of tyres in my life! The wheels are quite rusty, which naturally makes me wonder if I can find a set of slog mags the right size...

Thankfully, my pressure washer is mostly gathering dust...

Yacht varnish is one idea, but I don't want to lose the matt effect I've gone for. I've got one tin of aerosol matt acrylic sealer, which I might try. It'll take a few of them to do the entire car though, and I might actually have to mask bits of it off.

Yacht varnish is by definition oil based so won't stick to the emulsion. It will also have a different coefficient of expansion so will chip off as soon as it gets any sun/heat.

Emulsion isn't a bad thing to use on a fibreglass car, it's after all, plastic. You could spray a drop of water based varnish on the top, something like 'Polyvine' for a bit off a gloss. An electric paint gun will do a surprisingly good job of it.

I’d say white for the hardtop too...

If the emulsion and varnish works, could you do a hubnut motif on the side.

Nice but of self promotion, and easily changed if needs be.

Looks Good! I reckon blue for the top? Especially as you already have the paint!

The PO painted inside the van as well?  That was a lot of effort to go to for such a horrendous green.

Posted

The interior green is a different shade - reminds me of medical rooms at school...

Not sure why people are getting so uppity about the paint, if it doesn't work, so what?, Worth a shot and if it doesn't work, £10 and a roller and it'll be no worse than it was beforehand.

Fwiw, i liked the green though. ?

Yes to the slot mags.  Others may disagree...

Would grey on the roof work?  I'm thinking inverted duo tone Rover R8.  Or cream perhaps.

Had some help today. Much achieved!

Windscreen in, bonnet back on, front panel on (albeit lacking fixings and mesh). Now to give her a wash and see if any paint comes off...

I'm brave, but not stupid. ;-)

Nice One! Hope it survives the test. Should do with the clear over the top. In that case, the blue is just the colour sealed under the clear.

You could rename it "The Foxy Borismobile" (even the wash bucket is blue!).

Bromley Pageant is on the 23rd June, and this Fox needs to be there. Started with a small victory.

Hazard light fault was just dodgy connectors on the switch.

Sadly, the indicator stalk itself is physically broken - snapped plastic inside it. Will order up a replacement once I work out what will fit. Genuine Rialto stalk on Ebay is £66!

I’d say the indicator stalk is a BL item, maybe an old Marina or Ital will yield what you need?

F*CK.

Bonnet stay failed, which caused the new hinge repair to tear out and the hinge fixings themselves to fail. FFS! Also, my choke cable fitting went badly wrong. Garage door may have been closed firmly. Sod this.

No need for the stars... that’s a moment where obscenities are allowed!

Oh dear. Cup of tea, give George a stroke or two, slice of cake, chill out.

I can imagine someone on here would have an indicator stalk for you

Is a bonnet strictly necessary for the MoT...?
