Wife reading the news - "That Rishi Sunak is going on about the A1!"

Me: "You mean that big road we are going home on tomorrow?"

"No!"

"Oh, AI - that computer intelligence thing..."

Glad your PM is on the up and up about animal husbandry!

A simple man with simple pleasures. Up early. Helped by neighbours getting raided. Thanks for that and thanks to the tidy pc for moving the bully van out the way so i could hook up the trailer.

This is part of a series done by photographer Freddy Fabris, you can find more on their site here: https://www.fabrisphoto.com/SERIES/Renaissance/1/thumbs-caption  Best of all, their site has far better resolution images than a jpg shared on Facebook a million times with no artist credit.

I need to get a picture of the old tin can sat underneath the boot/ back axle, acting as a catch can for... Fuel?

The fuel tank on these is basically a glorified jerry can precariously perched in the side of the boot. The boot floor also seems to rot out directly beneath it. My money is on 'catch can for petrol'!

On holiday in Cornwall with the chiddlers, gf and her dad. We pass an RN base with a SeaKing guate guard.

GFs dad casually while driving (who volunteered with the local mountian rescue) :  last time I was in one of those it was over your hometown... sideways... with the door open

This afternoon, just north of the Queensferry Crossing there's a Transit sitting on the hard shoulder, hazards on. Planet Rock is playing Foo Fighters "Rescued" with the line "I'm just waiting to be rescued" just as I pass said van. 😄

Lovely. Cant beat an aquarium and i seem to recall Hastings is the best value short of dumping the push chair by the tanks at pets at home (or the zoo as we used to call it when they were little). Maybe he'll grow up like my mate George who's saving for a series landrover largely inspired by his mum and dads one's and the trials and tribulations. Memories are worth more than gold.

In other news my selfish happiness today stems from this.

Spanners in a row! Alright so many are missing though they'll turn up in time. Been having a sort out in the new lock up, this for the last 30 years of my life is the stuff of dreams. Much work needed still though space to swing a kitten achieved.

I rarely click on these sort of 'headlines' but I had to open this one as I absolutely knew what it was going to say.

Aurora Borealis over the UK tonight.  Might still be about if you're lucky.  If you stick your phone on a three second exposure (or more) and point North, you may get something.  I'm near Dover with fairly poor seeing, so if you're up much further North and it's clear, you may have got a full, spectacular visual display.

So completely under the radar, 30,000 people in South Hampshire lost their water on Thursday night and it never came back until Sunday. We're told we may well have more outages.

But because we don't have lots of MPs living in our area and being the scumbags that we are, it barely got a mention on the news, unlike a few thousand folk who lost theirs in leafy Surrey for 24 hours and suddenly it's a "Major Incident".

Anyhow, we turned that into a benefit. To avoid the outage, we booked a last minute holiday to a holiday park on the other side of the New Forest (who did have water). Was dirt cheap and turned out to be made up of brand new static caravans that were very clean.

And the best bit is that it turns out we get £30 compensation for every 12 hours we're without. As that was 6 of those, we'll get the holiday paid for too!
