I still don't understand what the sport squash is. I think it's like tennis but different?

Go down your local squash club and stand against the wall. You'll soon find out 🤣

We entertained an American lass a few years back who was, shall we say, rather straight laced - not quite in the Creeping Jesus Happy Clappy Club but getting there.
Went to the pub. She demurely asked for a half of cider. Liked it  - had another - and got pissed as a fart.
'Cider' where she comes from just means pressed apple juice - not fermented.

Anyways - this makes me grin tonight - by the Powers of T'internet - today we downloaded a Volvo 940 tilt and slide sunroof switch (via Royal Mail). I'm easily pleased in my dotage

Because, erm, the ECU needs to know for, erm, informational purposes!? 🤔😂

It didn't even have cruise control! So I see no other purpose for it other than to negate the fact the ECU will over rev the engine when load is taken away without the switch telling it the clutch has been depressed 🤷

If I put my Astra J auto in neutral or park and press the go pedal to the floor. It limits the revs to about 4000 rpm. The pedal is not linked directly to the engine, and the ECU is protecting the engine.

I guess in this particular Manual car, the ECU is trying to protect the engine plus make the job if driving easier, by doing what they driver used to do .

Bumped into my old junior school friend before, not seen her in years and years. Talk of having a class reunion for the entire year in our school. All four of us.

High attrition rate or just a small class?

I wear a shirt and pants for work (professional office environment). My grandma often picks me up new sealed shirts from the charity shop etc.

I was in a rush this morning and grabbed one of these shirts, quickly *ironed* it and put it on... I'm in work now and the shirt says bloody 'Post Office' on it 😩

Cycle paths are the new white elephant , nobody rides a bike to work other than Eastern Europeans who are all on the wrong side of the road anyway and anyone wearing lycra wouldn't be seen dead in one , so they've spent a fortune creating fly tipping lanes

I'm having the weekend away, this time at a hut thing. They have a cinema* room. Watching toot last night and suddenly the power goes. Woman who owns place comes out with a torch n says sorry, there's a switch that if I switch it trips the power. It'll be back on soon.

She's stood next to other halfs van. That says "Nigel's electrical contracting" in big letters. Confidence inspired.
