What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

The typical media shit storm of how dare Johnny Foreigner lock up a UK citizen! Often in the same broadcast as suggesting any foreigner over here is a criminal and should be locked up. I am sure there are genuine cases of people locked up abroad (and in the UK) who are innocent, but this person took drugs she admits she knew were illegal into Egypt and was convicted by their courts. Whether the prison was nice or a hell hole doesn’t matter much to me, she did the crime so deserved to do the time and does not deserve to be treated like some sort of celebrity when she gets released.

Exactly. I'm no fan of Piers Morgan but at least he asked the hard (but obvious) questions.

Ahh yes much like an XJ-S or C4 Corvette handbrake then ?

Never driven either of those

I'd never driven anything that hadn't got a normal ratchet handbrake lever , the only time I'd ever encountered a loose lever was when the cable had snapped so assumed that's what'd happened

The North starts in Crewe, and yes once you are North of Crewe it is better.

Shropshire is very nice , replace all the cars and it could be 1955 in pretty much all of it

We've had an ex Hoover service guy join our Facebook group, and he posted a pic of 2 of his old vans!

Escort ran out of tax in 1996, the Renault ran out of rax in 2006! Bet that was hanging by the end. No mot details for either though

The Park Avenue I got off of Bramz yesterday.  Keep up at the back! :P

Oooh you got the Buick, might have to pop over for a nosey, I liked the look of that old barge.

Are you gonna do a write up?

Saw the underneath of the hopefully soon to be Bramz7' safrane V6 an hour of so ago. Looks pretty clean!

I bravely had a conversation with the missis about her eldest (my stepson) and his attitude at school slipping again. I didn't agree with her defensive and protective statements... it went well*. 0-crazy in 4.2 seconds! I've locked myself in the bathroom for the time being...

You're welcome to come over for a drive.  You can have a go in the Y10 while you're here if you want.

I'll do a write up at some point - not really done much with it yet other than drive it home, but will start giving it a proper look over on Saturday, weather permitting.

There was a tidy looking silver K-plate Sapphire at Birchanger Green services yesterday morning - I didn't take a photo as I was too busy looking out for a gold Buick, and by the time I went back that way it'd gone.

Shropshire, particularly the southern part is horrible. People should stay away. Please tell everyone you know

I've been once.

My dad grew up there in the 40s and has no interest in returning.

Apparently it was a shit hole back then too.

Edmonton or Rhyl? Or both?

It was Edmonton.

stick to the facts.

Start every sentence with, I'm really not sure, but my own gut feel is unlikely to be the solution.  Do you want to hear my pointless, ill thought out ideas just for a laugh?

Volvo 850 oil filter change. It's on the bottom of the block and can be accessed with the undertray in situ, all you need is a jack.

Coming from the Honda D-Series, sweet fucking mana from heaven. On the D it's halfway up the back of the transverse block. Under the inlet manifold (or carb)..

Honda Jizz (L-series engine) doesn't even need* a jack.

The car sits high enough to slide my big oil drain bowl under. Oil filter at front. Can access both without removing undertray. Even though sump plug at rear, once you've dealt with any previous overtightening, it'll undo no bother without the jack.

Finally being recognised at work for hitting year end targets (I was the only one out of 10 regions), and I'll be getting £150 of vouchers of my choice. Result!

Beer vouchers with pictures of Brenda on then?

8:20 onwards is amazing.

Please, please, please warn of Piers Morgan content. Very much not safe for work when I involuntarily call him a snivelling fucking sack of cum.

Twice I've heard his fucking voice today, does anyone have a pair of knitting needles to put through my ear drums?
