This is my 5th Saab and all have been Noobtuned either by me or the PO. They aren't fast enough without it 😂

Now the fiesta has been rehomed on here last week, I'm running this corsa as a daily until I can get it a fresh ticket. Took it to Clipstone headstocks for a quick photo.

Found locally, this SXI+ is identical to one I nearly (but didn't) buy 20 years ago brand new. Needed to scratch that itch and glad I have.

27,000 miles, 16 stamps, 1 previous owner after the dealer and drives fantastic for a 20 year old car.

Police: You are laughing uncontrollably sir - have you been sniffing laughing gas?

Range Rover Owner: No officer - I've just read my  latest repair bill...

I don't really do facebook, but this is early warning for anyone that's thinking of going anywhere in the East Midlands this weekend. It's an 81m long 514 tonne unusual load that will be doing 8mph down the M42/A42 to M1 J24 on Saturday where it will be resting overnight before heading off again North up the M1 on Sunday. No problem, except that it's SuperBikes at Donington Park this weekend. I imagine that everywhere will be utterly gridlocked, so I'm going out to buy enough beer to see me through the weekend at dawn tomorrow.

FYI
THIS WEEKEND
🚛 Slow moving abnormal load this weekend
A 514-tonne abnormal load will be travelling through the Midlands this weekend at a maximum speed of 8 mph.
Road users are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time, or avoid the route where possible to prevent delays.
The 81-metre-long vehicle, which is heading to Goole, will take the following route:
📅 Saturday 16 May
• 9am – Leaves Rugby
• Approximately 11.30am - Expected to reach M6 J1 where it will travel northbound to the M42 J8 and onwards to M42 J10
• 1pm – Departs M42 J10 and takes the M42 and A42 northbound to M1 J24
📅 Sunday 17 May
• 11am – Leaves M1 J24 and heads north to M1 J28
• 2pm – Departs M1 J28 for onward journey to Goole
⚠️ Expected Delays
Due to the vehicle’s 6.5 m width, it will take up both lanes on the A42 and will not be passable. It will take up three lanes on motorways and should be passed with care. Please follow all instructions given by the police escort and expect congestion on slip roads and roundabouts at its stopping points.
Your journey matters — planning ahead will help keep traffic moving smoothly.

Allelys know what they're doing, shifting railstock. Fascinating to watch.

Yet the MGB could fare pretty well in crash due to having a 'partial chassis'.

Possibly, but I wouldn't want to test the theory.

I've done it twice.

The first resulted in the write off of an Escort that hit me after going straight across a roundabout on a major road, the second was after skidding off the road on a pile of mud left on a blind corner.

The first resulted in me having some physio due to my ribs being injured by my seatbelt, the second lost me a girlfriend as she wasn't very impressed with me crashing on our 3rd date nor me being more concerned by the car than her.

Was driving along quite happily

Earlier, had done 50 miles on the M25 at quite some pace

Stopped at some lights in a village, went to pull away and it coughed. I thought I'd just stalled it. Oaf.

Went to start it and there was a clang!

The crank pulley had fallen off, onto the road

Which was nice.

Used to frighten me passing HGV's on the motorway. I'm sure they can't see me when I'm almost alongside.

I thought this was also last weekend, it certainly tracks with my experience of coming back from Somerset and being stuck for bloody ages on the M42/A42.

In two days, I'll have owned the 330i for 2 years! A long time for me.

It has gone away into storage for now though as I'm cluttering our house up a bit too much and it's annoying Mrs SiC. Also the rear tyres will need doing, so it was that which went away than the Z4 or 525d.

This has been pulled out of storage for its annual trip back to Devon for my mum to MOT & service it at the local Porsche Specialist in Honiton. It took three attempts at starting - first two was just a click and the third it really struggled. Fully charged battery so I suspect it's the starter motor getting weak. Every year it goes in, it seems to be a £1k service and MOT bill as it's always needing something... (Glad I'm not paying the bill)

Also these two are actually almost the same age and probably cost similar when they were new? Big difference in value, mileage and condition now though.

I'm not even sure the driver of that white Toyota blob thing parked next to it would see it alongside!

Oooh, nice. Wouldn't mind a Bentley Flying Spur. I think I need to get on with it and make it happen.

Can't believe how minted this wee thing is.

I recognise that little Bini :D

So pleased to see the effort @davehedgehog31 put into it, looks fantastic, hope it serves Mrs Pin well.

It does rather look like the market for classic cars is adjusting itself down in values recently. Great news for people that actually want to drive the things

Due to being too old and knackered to be able to work full-time in a garage environment anymore and part time positions don't seem to exist i've been trying my hand at being a one man band specialising in mainly older interesting stuff.

This little Chamois is with me at the minute that needs going through after sitting for a few months in a lock up. First problem to solve was the stuck clutch that after some jerky shunting to and fro in 2nd gear with the clutch pedal held down resulted in a satisfying bang and a freed clutch plate.

Next in the pipeline is a Stag that has been standing for a few years and needs rehoming once it's up and running again.

Cinderella shall go to her Prom......

Mkl Escort gearbox cross member for a 5 speed conversion. Plenty more work to do, metal needs adding and hidden welding then cut that hole out. Basic shape done.

I was looking at the CL500 in that sale but it went for more than the asking price for one you can actually test drive for yourself elsewhere (FleaBay & Autotrader) plus they had a "collect it by end of next day else we'll ship it up to Northampton and charge you for that + storage" clause. Farnborough on a Sunday from here, by train? Meh.

As a possible daily car this came up during the week but Mrs. EWS is allergic to anything wedge shaped (XM, Favorit, etc etc so this would not have found favour):

All the other Brightwell's results are here  but they don't tell you in those if the reserves were met (and a lot were not) - however their sale reports (this week's not yet written up) do suggest that prices on the non-scene stuff is getting  affordable.
