Probably not.

Some months ago, I braved storm Caudia to drive up to a sunny Northumberland to pick up a boot floor cover for the S-Type. Unfortunately, not long after, it got damaged by a heavy car battery I'd not secured properly sliding all about.

To be honest, it really just needs a bit of plastic welding. No bits have actually broken off so a plastic weld from underneath will see it almost as good as it was.

Today, I recieved a text from a mate showing me boot floor cover going for stupid £cheaps and was fairly local to me. Within a few minutes, I got it all sorted and picked it up:

I am properly pleased as pie. I might keep the old one and get some plastic weld on to it, I may sell it later or something.

Took photos for the insurance this morning too as it was all shiny.  Just driven it round the m25 from South Mimms to staines. Cruises happily at 56 and I even overtook a couple of dawdling cars. Not bad for 75 years old!

I followed @Three Speed once on the M25 and he was doing 65 mph!

The mighty mondeo has been a lil sluggish starting and resetting trip meter etc so phoned about and GSF took £83 and I walked out with a drivetec battery with more cca and sparkly power.. dam thing fires up faster than before.

The couriering Caddy is getting closer to the big 500k.

I don't really know what to call it - D minus 10k and counting?

Finally got round to putting my second tank of petrol in the RX400h.

Absolutely staggering tbh and this is genuine. It’s been on the motorway but a lot of short town trips and I am slightly obsessive with the feather throtttle to get it running on battery when in the ‘burbs.

You can get it to run on battery up to about 50mph if pootling along bit still not averse to a wedge of right foot for the v6 grunt. It would be very easy to get addicted to the acceleration but I’m a tight arse of late…

I expected about 30mpg, not this madness from a 3.3V6.

Rover passed it's MOT-so good news there.

Thought I'd have a look at the Sierra's back wheelarch-should have left it alone!

Time to tackle it though-have a rear arch panel to cut up-this could be fun.

I am thinking of naming the C180K 'Christine'.  The nearside door mirror took a hefty knock recently, and the repeater indicator thereon left the chat.  It has now repaired itself...

In other Benz-related news: @Talbot, we are now but a few hundred miles away from the BIG 200K!

Somebody found the collection of bras we have at work for our female CPR dummies to wear so students can get used to cutting them off before attempting resuscitation. (A tight bra can restrict the chest and if you use a defib on someone wearing an underwired bra you're likely to give them horrific burns).

Blimey!  That must be most of 30k you've had that car for now then?

After applying for over 60 jobs (proper applications with crafted cover letter and tailored CV, no machine-gun firing of CV nonsense) and getting nowhere, I finally got an offer from my existing employer today from a job I applied for the day after my impending redundancy was announced!

Its only a FTC 12 months but its an exciting job and I will be regularly travelling to Brum which I am actually looking forward to.

I am absolutely broken now though but will pull myself together quick smart in time for the new role 🙂

? 😮

No one looks forward to going to Birmingham. I actively avoid it where I can. I lived there am still haunted by it. My Mum still lives there (hopefully she'll be moving up t' North soon) so I do have a genuine reason to actually go to Birmingham.

But seriously, glad you won't actively be out of work for the foreseeable. If your down here, let us know, we're happy to have a mini meet up. I'm off work for a month now.

Tits don't embarrassed me, I love them. If ever I see a young woman looking unwell; bit of a cough, sprained ankle, whatever...  Snip of my garden shears, naked from the waist up. I'll soon have them on the road to recovery.

Felt sorry for a customer today, big white X6 in nice condition with black leather interior. All the trim and leather had a waxy/greasy feel and thankfully l was wearing gloves. I believe this to be the culprit.......

Still makes me smile opening the door on a white car and the interior light comes like a fridge. Even more so with a Tesla.

Congrats man, the world of employment applications is a disheartening one, glad you're sorted.

Now what old toot are you driving back from the Midlands after your first trip down?

Lately I've been making a bit of an office/comfy area in the corner of my workshop. Basically somewhere I can display my tat that's not allowed in the house.

My wife bought this mirrored shelving unit years ago for me to stick my 'toy cars' in. I moved to this house nearly three years back and finally unpacked a box of mostly Vanguard models last week so spent a happy couple of hours earlier cleaning everything up and placing some 'toys' into it.

I have more still packed somewhere that I haven't found yet but I'm well happy to have these ones out again.

Put the old boot protector over the new boot protector to protect the boot protector !
