Possibly revised/improved as according to the release notes on one of the applied forum updates:

  • Upgraded Google Fonts API to v2 with improved performance using font-display:swap;
  • Imported font-weight:500 for Google fonts resulting in improved font rendering.

Yup i know how you feel, just fitted new o/s front driveshaft and changed the gearbox oil on my daughters i20 on the drive, I hate working off the floor these days, too old and creaky and I'm only 50, I think my spannering days are now confined to jobs off the floor.

The forum uses fonts supplied by Google.

The latest forum updates contains these latest update from Google Fonts, including all improvements needed to be applied to make them better.

TL;DR Google has made the fonts better. 👍
(Hopefully! They look okay to my eyes)

I think the font is very clear, and slightly bigger for your older gentleman eyes.

I'm a firefox user, so no change for me other than the blue thing. I quite like it - stands out better.

Just had a lovely chat in Exeter Morrisons with a bloke in his 80's doing his weekly shop in his Maxi 2 1750L as you do.

It's his daily driver and is in really nice fettle and also has a Maxi MK1 as well

Further investigation showed a less than favourable MoT result earlier in the day 😬

Considered leaving a note…

Managed 5/5 cars on the work commute this week, kicking off with the new Carina E then working through the rest of the fleet. Had to go for Mrs SL's Auris on Friday as the Avensis was in use.

Two week after the holiday and I'm still on French petrol in the RX as I've been driving the others quite a bit.

Carina booked into the garage on Tuesday for a pre-MoT checkover. Hopefully get the rad replaced and just want to be sure there's nothing like a rotten subframe before I start going through what (I hope) it deserves.

That’s better!

I have a usable LS again.

It’s actually not a miserable job to replace the rear strut, which makes for a welcome change.

About a month ago, I sold my perfectly good Vectra SRi estate and bought the Mini, which in all honesty is completely unsuitable as a Dad of 3 kids.

Whilst the Mini isn’t going anywhere as I’ve always wanted one, I’ve now ditched my job as a road worker and returned as a Director in the care industry (which is my background) and this includes extensive travelling, so decided I needed something bigger for daily duties, although being based from home and getting paid mileage from home, petrol or diesel didn’t really make much difference.

Picked this up off a mate earlier - for 216k on the clock it drives cracking. It’s a 525d, MOT until January and I paid £700
