That's a bit sad really, the same could have been done using newer scrap cars to the same effect.

Obviously the car gods have decided that an engine rebuild on the Focus is not enough for me to contend with, as the Picasso seems to have developed an annoying single click/tap under harsh acceleration and moving off from low speeds

It's almost a bit like a CV joint click but I don't think it is, as it's just a singular "click" noise and isn't rotational.

I'm thinking possible lower arm bush, but the MOT man didn't flag anything up and it's hardly done any miles since then

Maybe brake pads rattling in the carrier, it's not going to be an easy one to pinpoint, so that's another thing to sort 🙄

I'm contemplating just buying a 3rd car again 😂

A night away in a hotel (work purposes) so I took the Pontiac, as it hadn’t had a good run in a while and the battery let MrsB down when she drove it the other day. Came back to the car park to find I had a retro friend.

Sadly shortly after this was taken I was under the bonnet with the jump pack… a 30 mile dual carriageway jaunt ought to have been enough to charge it I would have thought. So… duff battery, duff alternator or battery drain…

Rollcage, alarm, leccy stuff, VVT swap with Megasquirt ECU, years test.

Should clean up well, and then it'll be sold on.

Actually, @JMotor this is Ian Cadden and I think he might have a flywheel going spare.

Managed to get something sorted now.

But thank you for the heads up bud 👍

Collected. No pez shot as it had 3/4 of a tank.

Smaller wheels and cloth seats FTW.

103k, ten months test, recent cambelt, ALL THE TOYS, full history, exceptionally clean, low owners, and the a/c works.

It was £1795.

Fucking belter.

That's an S if I mind right. Same seats as in my Altezza.

That's a bloody good price for an IS200!

Got the new (second hand) driver's window regulator fitted to the Toyota yesterday.

The old one was slightly past its prime...

It was actually fairly straightforward to fit, but annoyingly it doesn't quite wind the window up fully home.  There doesn't seem to be any scope for adjustment anywhere so I'm not sure why it's doing that.  It closes far enough that it's over the inner seal so it should be watertight, but it doesn't quite push all the way home into the outer seal so there's a little bit of wind noise above 60, although nothing too bad.  I'd still rather have a window I can wind down at this time of year, so I'm calling that a win.

Then I got under the 107 and the Rover and did a bit of rustproofing where they'd had MOT advisories.  The 107 could really have done with going over with a flap wheel first but it was too bloody hot to bugger about with that - I might do a better job at a later date if I can be arsed.

This afternoon I went up to welding mate's and we did a bit more on the Renault 6 - it now has an inner sill all the way to the front, and is starting to look structurally pretty sound again.  There's one more large section to replace, then it's just a couple of small holes on the other side.  I'd parked the car on an angle last time I left it and today there was about an inch of rain water in the footwell so the repairs are obviously watertight!  I'm going to have to make more of an effort to find the source of the water ingress now that water can't just run straight out through the holes in the floor...

I've been working at Glastonbury where yesterday I had the pleasure* of driving the shonkiest site vehicle I've ever experienced.

This position on the steering wheel set the road wheels dead ahead although there's a good quarter of a turn of slack before anything happens. Clutch pedal has a good couple of inches of slack in the pedal before anything happens and the brakes don't. Fortunately the site speed limit is 15mph.

Smaller than a lot of family cars today.

If we are talking about the Lambo they are way bigger than that.

That's what they do if you don't cut the grass every 30 minutes at this time of year, TADTS. He should get one of those robot ones, it will still leave lines but they will be squiggly and you can sit and watch it while drinking beer.

I think we're both right, it was the smaller 14" wheels for the first four years of production, then the enormously wide ones after that. Still only 15", though.
