That's pretty cheap, its about £1.64 my way for E10 unleaded, premium being about £1.77-1.84 depending on where you go

And here's the painting by Ian Etheridge that I've had ever since seeing it. Can't find any reference to more of these paintings being about, but there must have been many surely.

I have heard this but I've not seen many diesel pumps around here with out of order signs on though. Thankfully down to only a single devil fuel vehicle now.

It's probably for the best that it doesn't become widespread news, we all know what happened last time! 

My local (~20 mile radius, Sussex area) FB groups are going mad over it, lots of panic about an apparent lack of diesel locally. All of my 'fleet' are petrol, and the stations I go to have no signs up either, but have seen a fair few without diesel.

I saw one I passed had a sign up saying "no derv" which I thought was amusing, didn't realize the general public call it derv any more

That's more due to Social Media than fact, at least round here. I don't think I've seen any queues or shortages this week, though prices are edging up with u/l around £1.70 and dizzle £1.80

Yep. The 986 and 996 are the first Porsches designed to use it natively. Mine gets 95 E10 or 97+ E5 depending on what I'm doing or what petrol station is convenient

BX is back at Triple A to get the CV boot sorted. It's a bit messy

Unfortunately, this particular car uses AX driveshafts which require dismantling the driveshaft to then replace the problem boot, so a stretchy boot it is. According to them PSA used 3 different types without much warning and more or less at the same time, so I had a 1 in 3 chance of getting the right part.

To think it was going to be demolished at one point.  It'll forever be a Little Chef to me, even if Starbucks has painted it in dreary Money Laundering Nightclub Grey.

I have just discovered that if you hold down the open button on the Saabs key fob, it opens the roof.

Life changed.

Aware they are a bit Marmite, but my folks had one a few years ago and I always quite liked it. Only real issue was the turning circle was diabolical. Always quite liked the look of the drop top.

I'm putting this here because it's not a grump anymore. Well, not much. Been continuing with the OMGHGF. Took the head to a specialist who said it was pile of scrap and to get another head. Bugger. Rang a Pug/Cit breaker, with not a lot of hope of getting one, who said he had one on the shelf. Wasn't expecting that. Whizzed round to check it out and the only difference was the glow plugs were longer and differently placed which doesn't matter. £100 lighter it was round to the garage and clean it up. Pictures show the old one and the new one after I cleaned it up. You can see on the old the water was eating away the head at the galleries. The galleries on the new look sharp. Checked to see if flat  and it was. Excellent, no need for a skim. I've got a gasket set, head bolts, timing belt , tensioner, water pump, something else in a box, but I can't remember what, and new glow plugs. £200 and a bit plus 100 on head. Looking at max 400 when done. Not horrendous.

Slight problem with coolant hose stuff. These things have a bottom rad hose that goes to a metal pipe, squashed a bit flat to get past the bottom pulley and then back to hose to the water pump. Well, it is French. There's another the same at the back of the engine. Needless to say at one end of both of them they have mostly rotted away. As it's a known thing with these they are unobtainable. Great. Possible solution which will be tried tomorrow. Then it's off on with it's head.
