It was quite exciting. Especially when I deployed BEARD CAM.  That was just a trial of that particular technology (a selfie-stick stuck down my top). Not bad. Win win all round! On the camera mounting aspect, could I recommend getting a mini magic arm? Pukka ones are big coin but the likes of Aliexpress offer much cheaper versions, which I think would be fine for the lightweight cameras you're using. I did try my phone on the windscreen, but it shook a hell of a lot (hardly the last word in refinement) and shows nothing but my face, because the windscreen is so close.
