Not a great Friday night

How awful!  As others have said, we must hope natural justice will prevail; and of course, if there's anything I can help with......

Shit Nigel! Not nice :(

Some people simply need to be taken out of society. Sorry if this sounds rather harsh.

This is why I get arsey about parking and why I'm not comfortable leaving my car out on the street. There are nasty little bastards who'll happily wreck your property for kicks.

I hope I'm not talking out of term here Nige, but I did see some pics of your cars appear on Flickr a few weeks ago. I hope it wasn't result of that, although your address obviously wasn't posted, this could be anywhere in the UK.

Words fail me at the moment. Utter scum!

Fucking hell Nigel, what a thing to happen :-(

Hope the police actually bother to investigate this fully, arson is a serious offense.

Total wankstains.

Maybe the plod might take a bit more interest if you could convince them that a car that appears belong to Johnny Foreigner got torched in a race hate crime.

Glad it's was only the cars that got hurt. I'm a bit "meh" about a twingo but the R25 is a sad sight to see.

Karma will prevail I am sure.

Man I'm sorry to hear this.

You do seem to have bloody awful luck with tossers vandalising your stuff.

What tontops said tragically makes sense, when I had my lovely car keyed a little while back the police gave me a number and referred to it as an envy crime. WTF? They did jack, but a mate in the cops told me years ago that if you see kids fucking about outside call the police and state what you think is happening (criminal damage, race crime etc) to jolt them in to turning up. But you've had an apparent vendetta against you before, haven't you? You must have a clue about who these scrotes are surely? At the very least I'd have a camera monitoring your wheels 24/7, but discreetly hidden so as to allow them not to put their hoods up. Cunts.

Sorry to see this! Absolute tossers whoever the inbred scum are.

This is why I don't leave my cars on the street, I would imagine the fact your cars are so unusual brings a lot of attention, good and bad.

I hate people looking down my drive or enquiring about my cars. Most of the time it's genuinely interested people but you never know who's looking, or why!

That's tragic Nigel, it really is. What sort of reprehensible bastard feels the need to destroy someone else's cars? Whoever did it wants a good shoeing for starters.

Break yer heart that level of wanton distruction n idiocy ...  a longshot but might be worth knocking up your neighbours, as, as you've said they moved the cars together; a nosey neighbour might have got some footage via camera phone, captured a reg etc... one of them might even have a CCTV system n recording...

What was it about Friday?? In the Beetle going to work, cunt in a Beemer just pulls out from a side road, straight in front of me and does bother waiting for me to stop. I gave him a toot and a flash, he wobbles and clips the island kerb (hehehe), then stops, blocking the road and gets out and starts walking towards me looking all ready for something. I sit there thinking 'what a cockhead' he then takes a photo on his phone and drives off at 10mph and turns off down a side road. Prick.

Then that same evening coming home from work, I stop off at Tesco to get some petrol, I drive off from the side road onto the main Hertford Road, I look to the left side to check for no red light heroes and then see thatthe daft twat in the blue Pug in front has stopped at the red light for the other traffic!!!!! No time to do owt other than to brake very hard, so we have a bumper to bumper interface. I walk up to the driver and ask her politely why she had decided to stop. She points up to the red light and says 'red light' and gets all shirty saying that I accelerated too quickly, yaddah yaddah. I then quietly point out that the red light serves the big queue of traffic building up behind us and again asked her why she stopped.

She got out as did the passenger. Turns out she wasn't the owner of the vehicle, the owner is the passenger who is very quiet. No injuries sustained (I asked). I had a look at her bumper which was badly scuffed, I gave it a tug and it just popped back into shape. The owner seemed pleased by that and pointed out that the Beetle had a cracked headlight cover. She said that she wasn't keen to go through the insurance, blah blah blah, we exchanged names and numbers agreed to put it down to experience and we bother went away. The driver was very quiet by this time. The owner was nice and polite. I hope she beat the shit out of the driver when they got home, stupid cow.

Anyway, sorry to hijack. I hope you find the fuckers and hurt them badly. Very badly.

Nigel - that's very bad news. :(

Did the Fire Service attend? I know nothing about anything worth knowing much about, but would they not want to investigate an arson attack? Given that two burning cars at the roadside are quite a risk to property and people nearby, as well as any of their officers who have to deal with it? Just wondering if it's a standard part of their work (a quick forensic investigation or summert).

Hi Tim. Took 2 fire engines to put it out. The full shut road, bollards, busybodies & H&S scenario.

The Fire Chief confirmed it as Arson , point of ignition between the 2 front seats. The battery was disconnected and the car hadn't moved in several days. It's gone, already.

I've pulled it down to 2 of 6 local miscreants, and I'll have the full facts soon. I have most now.

I've heard nothing from the Rozzers other than the 2 here, briefly, because the Fire brigade called them , so can rely on total inertia there. No suprise, frankly. Prob get another vehicles check in the next few days though!

So, it's down to me. I' m easygoing, but decided not to let this one go. This is a large step too far. However, until I review my options & gather my evidence, I'm undecided on my course of action.

For that reason I'll go quiet on the subject now, chaps.

Thanks for all your good wishes. Normal service on other topics resumed, as normal.

Sounds to me like they had no insurance.

I see clowns stop for the wrong red lights now and then, causing havoc. Have seen people pull away looking at the wrong set of lights on roundabouts too!

Sorry to hear about your cars, Nigel. Some nasty pieces of work about.

Excellent at this forum is, I feel it is very easy for creeps to get info on our cars and movements (lol). I fear security needs to be ramped up and access denied to those who are merely 'lurkers'.

Twingo was on furrin plates wunnit.

So? As far as I know there has been no nationwide burning of foreign registered cars sanctioned by Nigel Farage?

Good luck with the investigations Bickle although it sounds like it's hard to get away with things out in the sticks...

Really sorry to hear this, Nigel.

That's a rather thin alibi, don't you think? Are there any people who can confirm this?

JohnF can clearly* be seen and heard in this most excellent* skiing vid filmed last week on a 1984 Betamovie camcorder. He had a fetching orange bobble hat on.

He was upset to hear of the death of Twingoid, it was the current Ms_F's motor, and came to live in the UK with her.
