Dick Longbridge
Any ideas on manufacturer of the Miura and Stratos? I hazarded a guess at Bburago, but their versions look slightly different. Split_Pin
sheffcortinacentre
I'd like to come across either brand locally shelves are bare or just naff fantasy versions. Datsuncog and sierraman

Looks a weird scale compared to the Rubik's Cube... a quick scally through Google Images suggests a 1/28 scale Kidco Miura, based on the decals - though I think Kidco wasn't the manufacturer, just a marketing brand for variety of toys sold in the US? Possibly Eidai Technica is the maker... Split_Pin and Dick Longbridge
Datsuncog
Called into Tesco earlier, as the day's discussions had given me something of a diecast thirst. Also, out of milk. Not very much in the Matchbox bin - same as last time, really. Only five castings - the Dodge Challenger in primer, the Jaaaaag XK140, the Jeep, the Dodge Ram pickup, and the weird electric bus thing. Tons of Jags, oddly. Like about ten of them. Hot Wheels had rather more on offer, but once I'd picked through the fantasy castings in the shape of bottle openers and whatnot, this was all there was in terms of actual recognisable cars: Some decent enough castings in there, but none of them really grabbed me... so I went and got the milk instead. Milk, however, does not slake a diecast thirst... but we'll see what the morning brings, hey? Phone charged, wallet cashed up, alarm clock set, car fuelled up and ready to go... ...'tis the night before Tatmas. Or something. Datsuncog
Blimey, I'm not sure I've been upright at this hour of the morning since last year. For the past twelvemonth and more, I've generally rolled out of bed around 8.30 for a leisurely commute down the stairs to the dining room for 9.00, to slump in front of a laptop. But not today. Not today. RoadworkUK, Split_Pin, bunglebus and 4 others

Datsuncog
So, what is there? Well, there's no 50p tat box, much my sadness. But there are some other cars to take my interest... Also some which @eddyramrodhad asked for, many moons ago? Plenty of other very dusty tat, but not a lot of old stuff. Yankmobiles are by ERTL; Le Mans style Porsche racer is an Onyx. Corgi Rolls Royce Silver Ghost front right is a 1985 reissue; tyres are all split, annoyingly, or else I might have had it... Other ERTL, Maisto, Corgi and Lledo abound. Joal Scania and Siku Mercedes buses - a fiver each on the bigger stuff like these. Small-scale Efsi modern coaches... EDIT: all smol 1/76 scale buses (EFE, OOC, ABC etc) are £2 a throw!! Some more unboxed ABC China Motor Bus vehicles - any interest from @Split_Pin? West Country fun with Badgerline... Tons of Leyland Atlanteans, Daimler Fleetlines and Bristol VRs Leyland Nationals, in both short and long body guise. And there's more to come! Datsuncog
Corgi Metrobus wearing far-eastern garb: More Atlanteans/VRs Larger Corgi Classics Leyland Tiger Cubs(?) Slightly chipped, and also a fiver each. I seem to recall the red one was sold as some sort of super-premium edition, back in the day. A pair of Corgi Plaxtons, too. ABC model in some distress, missing an engine and front axle. Bridgestone promos - one at the back unlabelled, one at the front by Checkmate Models (if that means anything to anyone?) Another Checkmate - a GZK bus, new one on me. MBE Dennis Dragon to the rear; no-name (but highly detailed, with opening engine cover and steerable wheels) Leyland something? Erm... Trams? Sweets? You decide. Oh, and another Leyland National - late one, without the cooling gubbins on the roof. Not much else in the tubs today: Mmm, Lledo and Mmaisto. The tatmonger's old standbys. Other tat on the stall largely non-automotive; no car logbooks today (apologies to @MorrisItalSLX), but hopefully they'll pop up in subsequent weeks. Might go for a wander and see what's on the other stalls - more to come, never fear! andrew e, Split_Pin, AndyW201 and 5 others
Split_Pin
*Breathes in and out of a paper bag* In the first pic of the ABC Chinese buses, could you nab the darker blue of the trio please, middle and left? Datsuncog
So, the other stalls then: sadly, not a lot going on. The fella who styles himself 'Junkman' had the same stock as on Christmas Eve, as far as I could tell: Sadly, most of the Lesneys are indeed junk, and the prices are a tad steep. Nonetheless, he's always keen to tell me that he'll do a deal - and in fairness, the Dinky Rover SD1 priced at £12 is in pretty good nick. He may take a tenner, if anyone's keen? Onwards to 'Paddy's Market', then: Another stasis booth - from what I could make out when I was briefly in the market earlier this month, as the waiting pen for COVID jabs, these just had tarps draped over them when the market shut the day before Christmas, and haven't been touched since. Not that it would make much difference, as there's still no movement here. Some interesting stuff, but daft prices. I think he was looking £20 each for these Tonka dragsters last year. Weirdly, they're still here. I asked about the Corgi Ford Transcontinental transporter. "£40 on that." Right. "It's from 1968." It's not. "They go for more on eBay." They really don't; I have them watchlisted. Boxed, perhaps, but this one is a smidge chipped and yellowed, so.... Onwards to the Charity Stall. Display and merchandising skills are on point. Corgi Transit minibus had some axle woes, but otherwise decent. £4 on this one; I thought about it, then decided otherwise. Corgi-wise, there were also these modern 'Past And Present' Guinness twin packs; nice, but probably not cheap. Also a demi-boxed Bburago Bini, a highly stylised Jada(?) Dodge Charger and a Saico Escrot. EDIT: Charger is by 'Badd Rides'. Well, okay then. Not really my bag, so I moved on. Alan's Emporium was looking a little barren the diecast front: Alan himself apologised; with car boot sales and auctions shut, he hasn't had much opportunity to refresh his stock. I told him that was quite understandable, and not to worry - hopefully there'll be more tat days still to come. And that, it has to be said, was pretty much it for the market today... one stall had a handful of recent-ish carded Hot Wheels, but mostly fantasy stuff. Another had a few Oxford Diecast and such amongst the sudoku books, birthday cards and grave candles (interesting range of product lines, that place), but you know what those look like anyway. The market was quiet... very quiet, actually. I can only assume that three-quarters of the population of Belfast are trying to force their way through the doors of Primark right now... #prayforprimark So, I went and got a coffee from my roaster of choice, for the first time in a long time... and toddled on down to the waterfront, again for the first time in a long time. With a sausage soda, as you do. And a bag of diecast tat, naturally... but I'll save the reveal until later! Heading back in now, for Round 2. Also, some pancakes. flat4alfa, Skizzer, Jon and 6 others 8

No worries - I did, in fact, pre-emptively swipe all three of the ABC double-deckers, reasoning that if you didn't fancy them, I could probably find someone else who did! I reckoned they were decent value at £2 each, so the darker blue triple-axle is very much yours, and you've first dibs on the rest. Heading back in to see if the Badgerline Dart's still there. 21 minutes ago, flat4alfa said: Hooray! I don't want any of them CURED. It's a miracle! In fairness, he really didn't bring his A-game today - this seems to be the stuff he was flogging back in early December, and it's mostly 80s/90s vintage-styled tat, unfortunately. No Vanguards, no original Lesneys/Dinkys/Corgis/ Spot-Ons and - most heinously - no 50p box! andrew e and Shite Ron

Split_Pin
Cheers Tim, at £2 a pop I will indeed take all 3. The right most one is an ABC as you say but looks different to the Dennis Jubilant you got for me in December, non opening drivers door for a start. I think its an almost Identical Leyland Victory so this will be great to have. The left most one is a Fleetline. I have a very similar Collectors Model one and couldn't afford the superior ABC example back in 2000 so again, this will be great to have. Weirdly ABC reissued it with the UK style front and normal hopper windows in Fife Scottish livery, which I also have. Much appreciated. I didn't know Tat Friday was going to be on so its been a lovely surprise. andrew e and Datsuncog

Datsuncog
Back over to Tat Central, then... and I was wrong to state there was nothing old; the partially restored and incomplete Spot-On Renault Floride was still there, amongst the other trinketry, for £10. Mmm, naw. It also turned out to be fortuitous that I scored the CMB buses when I did; by the time I arrived back over, there was a very excited Chinese family going through the box - tourists, judging by the leaflets they were holding - and they bought pretty much every CMB/KMB bus to be seen. I suppose I would have been equally amazed to find a box full of Ulsterbus models in downtown Beijing, so I can kinda understand. I did, nonetheless, manage to grab the Badgerline Dart for @Split_Pin - not a bad haul! Pics etc to follow later on - I've a few appointments in town to chase up now, but I'll be passing the market again on my way back to the car around 12, if there's any last calls! andrew e, Amishtat, RoadworkUK and 1 other 3
