16 miles each way.
5 miles though town, 10 on a dual carriageway and then 1 through a smaller town.
That gives a yearly average of around 7300 and additional driving takes me up to somewhere near 12k.
Average of 27 point something (see below) over the 2.5years I've had the car.

Not sure I'd want to have a bang in a terminally rotten car of any type. Whilst the crashing into one another might appeal to some, it would only take a shunt at the wrong angle in some of the wrecks pictured for the whole lot to cave in on you.

Treating the rear suspension mounts on a focus, the rust is just surface - I've rubbed down and wire brushed. Applied some Kurust on it, then a coat of Isopon Zinc Primer. Thinking next a coat of underseal aerosol Shutz type stuff then a very very liberal coating of Waxoyl?

I can remember vividly getting gt3 and royally fucking the game up by squandering all my winnings trying to get the Daihatsu Sirion I had purchased to 200hp.

Investigated the fiestas wet floors today, noticed passenger side was wet as well. Pulled carpet and sound deadening back, wet through. Underneath however was rot in several places. Most notably 3 £2 sized holes in the wheel arch/bulkhead, inner sill holed through and a 3 inch hole in the centre of the floor. Bearing in mind wife and child use this car I've decided to get shut as its got all the structural integrity of weetabix.
 
Looking at mk1 focus 1.6's seem durable, I am aware they rust but nowhere near as bad as the fiesta. In any case I'd be checking it thoroughly followed by waxoyl! Does anyone have any buying tips?

You could try Cress and Mustard  seeds and lob them on the wet carpet... These will absorb water ,and will as a bonus give a tasty filling in your egg sarnies  after a few days -
