Take your pick….

After all of these years of owning AS and AS worthy vehicles, if you could chose just the top five vehicles that you previously owned and would dearly want to own again in your twilight years what would they be? A sentimental look at those sellers remorse cars.

Out of the many, many hundreds, mine would be:

My old black painted TR7 engined Triumph Toledo, my dark green MGF VVC, my light green MGF,  my old Volvo turbo 940 Wentworth estate and my silver Bini Cooper. The top two would be the MGF and the Toledo.

Over to you……

Nothing shite tbh but

My 1994 BMW 540i

My 1991 Nissan 200SX

My 1993 Nissan 300ZX

My 1993 Toyota Supra Turbo

and my 1994 Peugeot 306 Dturbo

I was in my early 20’s and had some amazing cars, I also wish I’d bought my mates original 1991 UR Quattro when it was offered to me for £1500, I bought a caravan to take to Glastonbury instead 😩

Probs in that order. It's rare I mourn owt when its gone. The Manta i do. It was a properly minter than mint genuine 30 thousand mile one owner car when they were still cheap. I gave 1500 for it and sold it two years later for the same. At the time we lived in a 2 up 2 down and I couldn't care for it properly.

Also shouldn't have sold the Honda. But I'd bought the ZXR750 and couldn't keep both.

200sx I'd love a do at now. I ignored them in my youth as all 90s coupes were cheap and jap stuff didn't turn me on. What a fool.

It will always be my white MR2, it was bought off @mercedade on retro rides for £250 with MOT in 2012 and it got me 250 miles into work and back every week and France several times, only failing to go when the alternator went which I fixed with an MGF one that fit perfectly with a longer bracket.

I've only owned 9, so it's a bit tricky, but:

Corsa - for nostalgia reasons

Skoda - for novelty reasons + 4WD

X-Trail - as the best

Sedici - was a bloody good little car.

Probably the Megane.

The 206 was shit, the second Qashqai was shit, the Meriva was good but I preferred driving the Sedici and Megane, and the first Qashqai was brilliant but didn't do anything that the X-Trail doesn't.

Great idea for a thread…

My ones I would go back and un-sell
- 1990 Mazda Eunos
- 1984 Porsche 924
- 1997 Volvo 940 (in purple)
- 1992 Pontiac Trans Sport GT
- 1985 Vauxhall Nova SR (in brown… obviously)

Although it has to be said both the 2CV and the 9000 would make that list, but I’m not selling so they don’t qualify!

My one would be my Corolla Gti which I bought around 15 years ago.

DoneDeal which is Ireland’s most popular ad site had a section called “Cars for under €1000) and this popped up.

Best colour too in grey imo.

Says everything that this would also be on my list. What happened to it in the end?

I only sold it because I was doing regular late evening motorway commutes in winter and felt totally invisible. I'd had some amazing hoons around the NW in it, through Cheshire and Staffordshire. Absolutely loved it.

Otherwise, it'd be my first BRG 820 Vitesse. Everything a car should be - fast, interesting, practical and fun.

I got my 900 back which was the one I really lusted after.

Otherwise a bit like @SiC I miss the wee blue 1100 quite a lot. It was the happiest car I've ever driven. Nothing but compliments and smiles from passers-by.

I'd have my first Mk5 Fiesta Zetec -S back in a heartbeat. Imperial blue loveliness.

'81 Citroen Dyane with 1299cc GSA engine and Ami Super 4 speed.

'78 Chevrolet Camaro (originally a straight 6 car but upgraded with an old 403ci and a TH350)

'91 Yamaha TDR250 (black/red/purple with a genuine 8k when i got it at 6 years old)

'84 Ford Granada 2.8i Ghia X Estate

But to be fair, I've owned about 200 odd vehicles, its hard to choose just 5

2001 Peugeot 306 HDi estate. It was moonstone blue with a grey velour interior, plus I put a cheeky stage 1 map on it.

I sold it after 8 months because I bought a fucking money pit of a B5 Audi A4 instead. I still regret that one.

I also miss the 1995 BMW 316i. It was white with a brown cloth interior and unpainted bumpers. Absolutely peak car. I sold it in 2021 while in a low spot. Within 3 months it was back up for sale for triple what I sold it for, but with no MOT and a poorly 2.0 straight 6 in it. Fucking ruined.
