Fuxache! So there's no incentive to turn up in something old and interesting, it's £39 per car whether it's modern boring or interesting old.

Zero incentive for people like us to do the hard yards making sure our shiters are roadworthy and capable of making the journey!

Yeah, I think I'm oot this time. I'm not normally one to complain about ticket prices but that's a lot for what the show is.

They seem to suggest on the website its now running later in the day with some kind of late afternoon entertainment, but yeah it does seem a bit greedy to ask £40

Given that the queues will still not be fixed properly,  the risk of ruined-by-feedback bollocks musak being blathered over cheapo tannoy systems and irritating "celebrities" shouting equally irritating catchphrases is really very high, I also think I'll give this one a miss.

£40 really does seem very high given that it was half that two years ago.

£28 for 2023.

So up £10 on last year. For a show that's good but not amazing. Unless you fill your car and split the cost it feels like a bit of a rip-off.

The catering/queue situation always seems inadequate.

Entertainment being talks with YouTubers (who you can watch for free on YouTube) and music being played over a crap PA system does not feel like a £40 entry fee sort of deal.

I really don't think the day needs to be longer. A significant portion of cars fuck off mid afternoon before the awards anyway...

which makes what they want even worse :)

It was free until 2019. Things really have changed since the founders Ian and Angus left Hagerty, and IMHO not for the better.

@Weird Car's Dennis Dart brings all the Shitters to the FoTU yard?

Although a motorcycle ticket is only £15 so you could save a bit of money if you turn up in an Invacar

now that would be like proper old times! of families of 5 being smuggled into football games and the such like LOL

I'm just happy it's happening when I'm around, definitely will be there no matter what as I had to skip this year.

Could I politely ask that we drop the whole Invacare thing?  It really wasn't funny in the first place beyond a "curse you autocorrect" moment at least in my opinion, and a year (or two?) on really has just become really irritating.

Not going to say anything else on the matter nor intend to bring it up again, it's just made me grate my teeth enough times now I had to ask.  So there we go, I have.

Back on topic, yeah I won't be attending at that price.  Given it's far enough from home I'll probably be looking at an overnight stay somewhere to start with, and given the reported queues for everything from entry to the toilets, to egress, just doesn't sound like a great way to spend a weekend any more.

I have been wanting to go to this for a couple of years. Each time I tried to book leave it got refused. Next year I  am actually off on the day but at this price including fuel, food ect ahm ooot I'm afraid. Such a shame that when something gets popular/ more (social) media coverage the organisers seem to want to cash in on it.

Last year there were still cars arriving at the point that some people were leaving.  I had to leave relatively early (or at least I thought so), but I wasn't the first to leave by a massive margin.

Why don't we meet up at Colsterworth Truck Stop anyway?

Rival/protest event at a suitably grim venue.

I do wonder what they’d think if a Dennis Dart showed up full of shitters? Or if they’d even allow a bus to show up?
either way we’d like to take the Dart to a few shows next year.

if everyone is put off by the £40 entry fee, then perhaps this problem will solve itself at least :)

I personally would love to go just to say I have been, but obviously that depends very much if I have REV back in time and with enough time to be confident in making such a run!

I still think @AdgeCutler should enter his Invacar Mk12E for concours :)

That entry is a little racy. Might be enough to make me give it a miss next year and try Shelsey Walsh instead. It's been on my 'to do' list for a while.

£40 and in the far north? I'm out too.

Its Peterboghorror.

Thats SOUTH that is.

I shall probably go but have to say I think they are starting to take the piss a bit.  I will have to chip in another £12.50 to that cnt Khan, or £25 if I do an overnight.  Plus petrol etc.  As @grogeesaid there isn't even any concessions for those of us who bring the cars people come to see. Noticed a bit of a backlash on the FB group so will be interesting to see if people stay away

I've bought a ticket, just a 'normal' one although last year they let me park in the display area anyway.

£40 is very steep for just a car show, especially if on your own but for me it's worth it (or has been previously). I look at it as a morning or a few hours entertainment/interest that is not easily replicated. Compared to a gig or a sporting event it's not outlandish. No restrictions on taking food/drink in either.  I'll definitely have at least one person with me which helps, and is only around an hours drive away.

Obviously it could all backfire and they'd be left with not so many show cars, which would be rather disappointing. We'll see, maybe it will be my last year.

Really wanted to go this year,

Cost of travel/overnight costs etc means I don't think I'll be there.

Hope everyone who can attend has a fabulous time.

This one is my first time going, so stumped up the price of a ticket. Don't think I'll be doing it again though. Planning on taking the Vectra, and happy to entertain passengers with my crap singing and sense of direction (or lack thereof), if @PicantoJon hasn't put people off wanting to be in a car with me... :D
