Any bets on the buyer claiming item not received and getting a refund?

A tracking number that shows "delivered" will quash any such case on eBay, that's something they're good at now.

If it's delivered to a lobby it's the buyer's responsibility to take it in or dictate a "safe place"

Either way, don't worry about it as it's not your problem :)

A friend came round to help with some other car work and he has an obsession with bleeding brakes. Now the pedal just goes to the floor although all nipples are closed.

I can't quite work out why, but bleeding the old fashioned way again solved my issues and the car seems to be ready now as I made good progress with all the other little jobs I needed to do

So you're on Autoshite complaining about somebody having six cars. Do you see the irony?

All 6 of them were relatively modern boring boxes - I'd have had no objection if it was something remotely interesting!

IT failure today. For reasons unknown the RJ45 socket on the printer decided to fall apart. I eventually found a spare network card, but then had the fun of trying to remember how to get into my router to give it a static IP.

Perhaps I shouldn't use 30 year old kit, but if it isn't broke etc.

Kids

My son (25)and his girlfriend have a 6:30am flight booked from Manchester to Belfast tomorrow

They asked if I'd take them to the airport , only according to the news it's chaos so I said they'd need to be there early like 3:30am early which means me getting up at 2:30am

Then he tells me they're staying here and they won't be in until midnight , and he hasn't packed yet

So they'll be waking me up at midnight expecting me to get up at 2:30am , that's not happening , so I've told them I'll stay up and take them about 1am

But bag check in doesn't open until 4:30am

Bonus , you'll have a bag to sit on then

Fucking Manchester airport. Biggest Kip of an airport going.

Good luck, you're probably doing them  a favor, 3 weeks back my other half waited 3hrs for security, the queue was in the car park.

I've swore the next time I to to Ireland I would go to Leeds Bradford instead of Manchester...

Or a train to Holyhead for the ferry? It might be slower but sounds more pleasant. Actually, can't remember if that's a P&O route, so maybe scrub that. Best stay at home.

What? If fhey can't get to the airport, they do not qualify for flying.

Yeah, wouldn't recommend that at the minute.

Irish Ferries and Stena sail from Holyhead, but crossings are being cancelled and shifted around as boats are reallocated to other routes - my folks spent many unhappy hours stuck dockside in their car last week when their Stena sailing was suddenly cancelled. Ended up not boarding until 4.30am the next morning. No on-board amenities, no apology, and then dumped into rush-hour Dublin traffic with no sleep and a further 150 mile drive.

It's not a great time to be travelling right now.

I try my best to only ever use the Belfast - Liverpool route now, night sailing with a cabin. That said, if there's any choice, I fly and out of Belfast City not Belfast (airport in a field) International and certainly not Dublin.

Does the Belfast to London coach (of death) still exist? Thirteen hours. Properly grim. Probably now banned under some UN charter.

If 65psi blows the wheel cylinders then they were fucked already . Brake systems often see 3000psi

I didn't have the drums on. I had put new cylinders on and was changing the brake fluid. When I connected the van tyre it popped the pistons out before I realised what was happening.

Fuck knows what I was thinking.

We've all done things like that. I remember once refilling a car with oil before putting the sump plug back in. This was back in the days when I did all my maintenance* in a council estate car park. I didn't notice at all as it was on a slight slope and it ran towards the back of the car. I only twigged after I'd put about four litres in and checked the dipstick to find it still empty. That stain was there until they resurfaced the car park.

My favourite was the TR7 V8 I serviced then hit the road up north and forgot to put the oil cap back on........... half-way along the route out of Norwich to Peterborough it decorated the entire screen and the engine bay. Luckily the cap was still there. Clean-up took bloody forever before I could get going again though.

I did exactly  the same, and while pouring in the oil and waiting for the funnel to drain, I was literally holding the sump plug in my other hand and wiping the schmutz off it on my overalls thinking to myself "I better give this a proper clean before it goes back on"

The asda man just told me how difficult it was driving such large vehicles and that's why he knocked my gate off it's hinges 😂👍🙄

I did the same thing when driving to meet my future in-laws for the first time on my Leyland Princess. I put a pint of oil in about 40 miles before arrival, got there, was introduced, then, " why is there smoke coming out from under your bonnet?" The cap was still there sitting on the battery, with the entire under bonnet area covered in a thin film of oil.

Most Asda drivers seem to have never driven anything larger than a Golf, so I suppose a midsized van seems quite big to them.

A friend of a friend did that with £70 worth of racing oil in a motorbike,  poured the whole can in without *ding* why have I put all this in and it's still not on the stick.

It's was a nice looking stream of glistening oil running down the drive though.

At least mine was nice cheap 20/50, for a Wolseley 18/85, but I still had to go out and buy some more before I could use it again.

I once pointed out to an Asda driver who looked about 20 he’d caught a car as he turned a lh corner in a tight side street , he’d dragged it 2ft up the street , I could tell by his face he had no idea he’d hit it

My former next door neighbour used to work on the shop floor at ASDA.  When they started deliveries moved to that.

Private car was a Beetle - old one.

Has now graduated to artics and can thread them through a needle.

Not bad for a girl!

I once drained a 5 litre sump into my 4 litre collection tray ... After dropping the sump plug into the tray ....... Used s lot of rags to clear up that day ...

It's an improvement in that it's a name that's not easily modified into an STD.

Walking past a Tesco van, i mentioned to the (20 something) driver that his third brake light was permanently on.
"Ah, no. I've got my foot on the pedal."
"In that case, i think you've got two brake lights out"
(Shrugs) "Fuck knows"

Not encouraging.

Mate of mine has a Civic sedan like mine.

He's lost the tail and binned it, entire rear end stoved in.
