The grumpy thread

Dollywobbler, At the risk of stating the obvious any publicity for a growing channel is good publicity, the idiots who will comment just to insult are just extra traffic.  You might have to consider new sponsors more aimed at draggers of knuckles tho......  :-D

Thanks. I guess what irritates me most is that there are outright lies circulating about why I may have taken a course of action. I an only assume they come from bitter people who prefer to guess than consider the truth of a matter. Bitterness is not healthy. I should just ignore such pathetic behaviour, but it does get to me. I mean, who would be happy to have lies spread about them?

God, absolutely! I'd love to tell you to rise above it, but it's not that easy.

I haven't looked at the other place but the level of tin-foil-hattery in a certain other thread on here is quite loopy enough. Personally I think you're in league with Santa.

I've got to be honest, some of the comments on there, whilst i agree with some of the more sensible ones, have been pretty disgusting on the whole, lots of personal attacks and general nastiness. Rather than acting like the bigger man/woman and establishing a forum the way they want it to be they have just spent their energy's into turning it into a cesspit of hatred.

Who's going to join a forum like that and contribute good content?

I still feel bad for getting involved with that place in its beginning, I thought it was just going to be this place with more swearing, rather than the place to call Cavcraft Ian and bollox a cunt.

Nobody knew and it was never intended for that imho.

Sort of proves that those who demand the right to free speech are entirely unable to deal with such a responsibility.

Going to IKEA in Sheffield today.

Fucking fun times.

Hopefully you’ll make it out alive. The food hall reminds me of school dinners, if you don’t like processed meat you’ll go hungry.

With the right to free speech comes the responsibility to use it wisely.

Never mind all that, a shiter is going to IKEA. There's someone who really needs our thoughts and prayers.

As for the bitching and fighting,I've no problem with anyone and I prefer an easy life. If I've an issue with anyone I will take it up with that person alone. Best way to be isn't it? Or should be.

That’s a sweeping generalisation considering there’s plenty of reasonable chat going on there too.

Even a Brexit thread without uproar.

I’d prefer not to be classified in such a way.

I bought a HubNut sticker on Sunday, despite reading about all the dreadful things that Ian's alleged to have done.

I'm sitting in one right now.

But did you have to spend 18 hours walking 27 miles to get the screws to put it together?

I don't enjoy joining these types of discussions but this comment is so extreme I couldn't let it pass unchallenged. It is quite extraordinarily authoritarian and controlling. To anyone who places value in liberty, free thought and free expression it is difficult to hear. The culture of the UK, as in all countries is cyclical. Sadly we are entering a phase of increasing puritanism, only this time not rooted in religion, but manifested in a concerted attempt to heal the world of its 'ugly thoughts'. In the process, everything the self-appointed moral arbiter decrees as offensive is extinguished. I am deeply unhappy about this in life and on Autoshite: I can see it leads nowhere good.

FWIW, I don't hold you responsible for the manifestation of this new authoritarianism and controlling behaviour in Autoshite's moderation. I can see you agree with it, but I don't believe you are the prime mover behind it. I look elsewhere for that.

No doubt I will be flamed for this comment and I am fully expecting to be laughed at by people who have not understood me. But I feel it has to be said.

The same is true for those in positions of authority, but magnified by an order of magnitude.

I agree, in part.  This issue is with definitions.

No.

Statistically they have exactly the same probability of winning next time as they did just before the draw.

Or yes ?

Or are we thinking that if they already had 5 balls out of 6, as the 6th ball was about to be chosen they had a one in 55 chance of winning the jackpot. And now they have a 1 in a trillion chance.

Just to be a pedant, you are talking about probability, not chance. Even if the probability is 1 in a trillion, you have a 50/50 chance.

Can you please clarify what you mean by this?

I've met billy and he's not the sort of person you'd call a cunt and live to tell the tale.

I like Ikea.

But not having to drive there.

Make that two. Mrs BMH is priming me for a trip there as well. Not sure whether it'll be the Sheff one or Morley. The latter has the option of continuing to Bradford for a curry, Sheffield one just means coming home depressed.

I think you mean pendant.

If I go to Ikea I go in the evening as its normally pretty quiet. Nice jaunt round, some meatballs half way and a hotdog on the way out.

Whats not to like?
