Docs phoned up, they're referring me to endocrinology due to love spuds operating rather sub optimally. I've a feeling a whole new level of embarrassment awaits.

It'll be fine as long as you don't tell anybody about it. Oh.

As someone who has a sister with Downs Syndrome, I can't say the phrase bothers me very much. I know she's far more intelligent than users of Gumtree, for whom the word Mong was truly developed.

..

I work with kids with disabilities and their struggles with daily life piss on almost anything on the grumpy thread. The use of terms like mong, retard and my pet hate, spaz is that it is a continual assault on the image of people with disabilities. Whilst you might not find it offensive as you have had the benefit of knowing someone with Downs and understand the capabilities of the real person, for most it just reinforces the idea that people with disabilities are inferior in one way or another. This in turn makes it harder for them to get by in life. Some of the kids I have had the pleasure to know are the hardest working most dedicated kids you could ever meet and get on really well in the workplace - just not the sorts of workplace where mong, retard and spaz and commonly used.

Schadenfreude mode.

The cab driver who scraped my car last year and called me every name under the sun when confronted is sat behind the wheel of his TX in tears because it won't start.
This is for every time you've woken me up revving the nuts off the thing 'because it needs to warm up'. No, moron, that's what glow plugs are for.

Karma's a bitch, mate - isn't it? Had you had the decency to admit what you'd done at the time and stumped up some cash to pay for the repairs, I'd be out there with a boost pack giving you a hand.

Awfully cold at the moment, so I won't be bothering, sorry. Sort yourself out.

Listening to Jeremy Vine, he had 2 Americans arguing over the 2 presidential candidates, Americans always act like they're their parents.

I can't imagine anyone arguing over here for Teresa May and the like.

I have a sister in law with Down's syndrome, but as you say,you hear those terms but in our mind they don't have any connection with disabled people

I also dislike things being referred to as "gay"

Black dog has been in residence for the last few days. It will pass I know but it does make life hard sometimes.

There's no like to that, I have exactly the same problem.

I got sacked from one of my jobs today.  I was seriously considering quitting, but they got there first.

I have put the focus on ebay despite vowing I would never sell anything on there again.

It really shows how shit gumtree is.

Fucking staff, one guy has gone awol and another turned up pissed again so I fired him, means I'm working weekends for the foreseeable until I can recruit someone, does no-one give a fuck these days? Its a good job, £19k, no nights and not really that difficult, just lots of common sense needed, I'm sick of it.

I don't even know what the job is, lol.  It might be something I've always said I'd never ever do!

Oh there's any easy way to deal with folk describing stuff as gay. Just reply: "Yes, it does look rather a lot of fun doesn't it?" (a reference to lifestyle rather than any intimate doings. I still prefer women).

...and THERE's the problem!

The Actros I'm driving has a terrible radio. I get Radio 1 and 2...

My brother picked his wife up from work yesterday with their 6 year old in the back of their Meriva yesterday.

No seriously hurt but the signwritten Mercedes Sprinter didn't stop just pushed the car out the way then pissed off. Luckily there are two witnesses who stopped and helped who gave statements to the police. Oh and the van left it's number plate behind.

Sadly he has got a courtesy car from the claim management firm, hopefully that won't bite him in the arse...

If anyone is considering buying a OnePlus phone, please don't. My six month old one has spent the last two weeks in Germany being 'fixed', after it completely died. According to the tracker on their repairer's website, a week of that time was spent waiting for them to open the parcel I sent it in.

Today it came back. And it turns on! Shame none of the buttons or the touchscreen works. So, its got to go back to Germany. And they can't send me a UPS label for at least 24 hours as there are 'problems with their system'.

Now reading stories on the internet where people have been sent broken 'fixed' phones, sent them back and then been told that they've clearly damaged it and will have to pay ~50% of the cost of the phone to fix it. Yay.

I'm just in from work, ready to get my head down for a good nights kip except this is happening right outside my bedroom window

I love all the seasons of weather on this gorgeous island known as Blighty

I'd just like the transition between summer and autumn to be a bit more gradual.

TX owner...... just go out to the end of your drive or whatever whilst holding the jump start pack. Shout over to him... 'You need one of these?. When he answers 'yes please' you then tell him Halfords will be open at 9am and they do some decent deals on jump start packs and suggest the correct bus to get him there and back.

Hope the cops tazer the Sprinter driver for being a complete twat. How happy* will he be when he realises his plate is now evidence LOL++++

Glad no-one was hurt.

An old ex of mine had a Matiz (*spit*) with a dented right rear door. Before I met her, a courier van had changed lane into the side of her car, didn't stop, and she didn't catch the details and no witnesses came forward!

I found a replacement door in the local scrappy for £15. Because it was such a basic car (no electric windows or central locking) no wiring was required. 3 bolts, 10 minutes work, door swapped. The arch was still a bit dented but it looked a millionty times better and I was in her good books for ages after that.
