I'm sure the insurance must cost more than buying the Disco 4,Shirley?

Not if you get your bezzie m8 to stick it on his trade policy. Works great until she stacks it, or it's routine stopped and they realise she's not the hairy arsed bloke who's insured it.

200+ year old oak tree which is protected by a TPO apparently should be removed because it casts a shadow. Might as well chop down all trees, just to be thorough.

We've got several horse chestnut trees, at least 2 of which we believe to be over 200 years old.

They're a complete pain with all the sticky bits that drop off, followed by the conkers which can do some damage if they've come from the top of the tree.

But they're part of the garden and provide homes for squirrels and birds so will stay.

Why are people able to leave blank reviews and why can't I remove them?

I have no clue who this was or why he thought three stars appropriate, Google doesn't even check for a verified customer.

Bye bye Golf. Hello insurance claim. Some bastards broke into our house last night and nicked the keys and drove off. Never woke us up. Didn’t touch anything else. Appearing soon in a robbery in Birmingham or ‘spair and reper’ online. Zero crime here in 25 years of living here, Golf here for 6 months and *poof* it’s gone, stolen to order.

It would depend on a few things, but this is likely to be parked up somewhere near by. They'll give it 2 weeks before moving it on as they want to see if there is a tracker on it.

Happened to a bloke I know with his Audi. He found it parked up. So maybe worth putting it out there and asking people to keep an eye out?

We could all leave you good reviews with feedback? Chuck the link up and I'll do one 😂

Finally, after months and months, managed to actually speak to my GP today.

I was in there for a grand total of three minutes and then seconds.  During which I think I managed to say about ten words.  Five of which were my greeting when I walked in.

Have we achieved anything?  No.  I've been referred for a group session cognitive behavioural therapy pain management course.

You know, maybe investigating the potential cause of the debilitating headaches might be more useful?   Or maybe prescribing something to offer at least some sort of relief for times when it becomes too much to put up with?  No?  However this gets me out their door and kicks the problem down the road for a year, so I guess ticks their boxes.  *Sigh.*

Weirdly, back in the mid 80s I was instrumental in getting 3 different friend's cars back to them after spotting them in the street. 2 Marinas and a Mk 3 Capri. I was hoping it wouldn't happen again in case my friends all started believing that it was me stealing them, then "returning" them to make myself look good.

I still go back to that Pistonheads "dominate the stairs" post every year or so for a laugh, where the guy on there detailed how he would fight off anyone that tried to take his keys in the middle of the night.

Yea, but, you can't defend if you're still snoring! I'm a heavy sleeper, my keys sleep in a basket on my bedside table. Mrs' keys are in the hall drawer, but she's a very light sleep.

I did a pain management course. It was located at a nearby leisure centre in a pokey room upstairs. They gave us cheap solid plastic chairs that looked like they came from IKEA or similar. 3 hour session in a chair with no padding or support for someone with a chronic spine condition. I stuck it for 30 minutes then left stating that I couldn't handle the uncomfortable chair any longer. I was offered the option of standing for the rest of the session. If I could stand for 2 hours I wouldn't need to be on a pain management course.

The company rang me up to book me on the next session and for feedback. Decent chairs was my suggestion and I never attended again. If you're in chronic pain I'm of the belief you can't think it away.

I think I've told the story on here before of the chap who walked into my house looking for my car keys one day, but I may as well repeat it as it's always a laugh.

Relevant local news article: https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/local-news/man-wielding-hammer-stole-mums-4866565 - I was the first house he entered. What I don't think is mentioned here is that he tried to enter another property before he managed to get the car he was eventually caught in.

What the article won't tell you is that at the time he walked through my unlocked front door, I was having a rather intimate moment upstairs. Having managed to cover myself up and get to the top of the stairs in time to hear the words "I'm just looking for a lift", I think the sight of a 6ft 4 (in both height and circumference) man in just a pair of shorts, possibly still somewhat at half mast is what persuaded him to run, particularly as the keys he was after were upstairs and I had yelled 'get the fuck out of my house'.

These are precisely the scenarios where you should be able to kill some cunt that is in your home without fear of getting nicked. When Cameron was PM he made a pledge to sort it out in law, so that you could take what ever steps without fear of ending up in the dock but it never happened

I can see it now in the dock...

"and why did you kill him?"

"He interrupted my wank"

Disgraceful.
Property developer twats have done that near us to loads. Council just roll over however in next breath everyone is tossing off over their environmental credentials...

It's not just the tree it's all the creatures that use it. Bloody awful, truly boils my piss.

I once walked for miles and miles through the snow, and gave up outside a pub to wait for a lift.

A few months ago I remembered the story and, curious to find out just what distance I covered, I looked up directions on Google Maps from where I'd started to the pub car park.

Every time I've opened Google Maps since then, it asks me to rate and review the pub. I click the 'x' button to get the pop-up window to disappear, but it just keeps coming back.

I've never even been inside the place, but I'm tempted to leave a generic and non-committal review just to get the annoying pop-up to sod off.

Your mystery reviewer might have found himself in a similar pickle.

Absolutely fed up of everything online hassling me to become a free focus group, when I just need to get on with things.

You're allowed to use reasonable force to defend yourself/others in your own home.

You cannot, however, "kill some cunt" who enters your home and leaves when you tell them to fuck off. Because that's deranged.

Oh I don’t know ask a yank 😀 It’s an excellent deterrent for ‘would be (fuckin dirty, dirty scum filth, violating cunt insert you own description) burglars. They may just think on, instead of going to court & having 25 previous convictions taken into consideration.
If someone breaks into a home I would happily see them executed

they tried to palm me off on that once, did not end well, for them....

is there someones arse you can ride to push through for a proper actual look into what the issue is?

gives me flashbacks to the early days of my Chronic pain issues, when they tried to basically say "it must be a mental issue" until finally we got through to a neurologist, who said (paraphrasing) "yall been looking at his back why dont we a scan of his brain?" low and behold, thats when It was found out I have Cerebral palsy and suddenly everything made a lot more sense as to what was going on with my body!

like the reason I walk on my tip toes and all that

basically what im saying, is *dont* let them palm you off like this, ride their arse, until you they give you a proper look in

dont let them put body-filler over the rust at your expense!

I do like it when punishments are proportionate to the crime

I knew someone who stopped in a box junction by mistake. Got a life sentence. Good riddance

The basic issue is that our surgery - even before COVID arrived - was running at about 500% capacity.  It was an 8-12 week lead time to get an appointment with a nurse, never mind doctor even back then.

Not really much I can do to be honest, even if I were to kick off with the ombudsman (I'm assuming there is one or similar organisation), they're just going to say "Yeah, they're missing their targets.  What do you want us to do about it?"

There's nothing going to fix anything here other than our GP practice suddenly magically gaining several tens of additional medical professionals overnight.  All of the surgeries around here are swamped, so nobody else will take us on.  Ours being the city centre one though is just *particularly* badly swamped.  Basically the answer is "move." Which we're working on.

I do have private medical insurance via my husband's work - unfortunately they won't touch pre-existing conditions so that's not really worth the paper it's written on.
