This morning, I got a message off a woman who wanted to come and look at my mini for sale, she mentioned she was coming from Tamworth, about 70 miles away.

She let me know she'd set off and I was just scrolling marketplace and saw a passenger seat for sale for my Crafter. Not a bad price. Located: Tamworth.

When she arrived I mentioned it and made a bit of a joke that they could have at least fetched it for me, but didn't go into any more specifics. After they took the car, I jumped in my van and drove to tamworth to pick up this seat.

500 yards away from my destination, I drove past her house with my mini parked on the drive!

What are the chances etc etc?

Nice to natter with @83C today while doing a half-arsed job of cleaning this. Might even drive the thing at this rate! IMG_6565.jpeg.9f7a5745d7b9fe08c7287138dcb66476.jpeg

i'm not technically a luddite but i just don't understand electrical things - i'm of the school who believe that electricity doesn't exist and is actually voodoo. and auto wiring is just a rat's nest in my eyes

anyway, Giulietta has been a non-start or start then stall for a few days. CEL glaring at me. bought the cheapest OBD code reader i could find ( expecting to fail so not worth spending loads).

plugged in, read a generic code, x-referenced with model specific codes, located the faulty bit, cleaned it up and the car is all fixed again.

this is routine for many people who tinker with cars but a first for me and my happiness is wholly disproportionate

I know people won't believe this. I barely could, and I was there.

My mate lived in Worcester and sold his Mercedes E320 CDI to someone. Easy, quick deal. The guy came from London and collected it.

A couple of days later, he found a car for sale that he wanted. A BMW X3. In London.

I gave him a lift to London to collect it - it was the same guy. He was selling his X3 because he had bought my mate's E320 CDI to replace it.

Proud moment yesterday.
Sprog is driving around in an AS special - 2004  W203* estate - that has 45 and 40 profile tyres fitted. It's got a boot full of baby transport system (pram) and a back seat full of baby crash protection paraphernalia (baby seat) - i.e. 'helpless mother' advert.
Some guy was creeping around her in a car park telling her 'those tyres look flat', 'they need some air', 'they'll heat up and burst' , 'you will die' - i.e. you're a helpless wee girlie, you'll die, Mr ManSplainer here will help you.

She reports that she fixed him with a Paddington Hard Stare and informed him that, no they are not flat. They are what's known as low profiles and, in fact, the fronts are still over inflated to 35 psi as they're still fairly new and she's keeping an eye on them to make sure they don't lose pressure.

He had the temerity to then ask her where she got her info from.

'AutoShite' she replied. Top banana.

Just been out walking a dickhead and saw something on the side of the road.

It was a 2m length of pine quadrant!

It came home with me.
