The nhs training dept are adamant that I must drive 2 x 400 miles to participate in two lots of classroom training that are for staff who have face to face patient contact, moving and handling patients and some physical intervention bollocks. I dont have face to face contact with patients, its all done over the phone. It is utterly bonkers.

Yes it's a shame the car had a lot of character that is now gone. And it looks bad now and probably worse in reality. What I think about this I will keep to myself. But I was very surprised and disappointed that no one here bought the car so well liked it was. The idea to buy it was in my head when no one here wanted it but it would unfortunately be difficult and expensive since I live in Norway.

Our council did publish figures of how profitable the recycling was.  Certainly worth doing.

 

I only put a bin out every couple of months.  Live alone and very little waste except I cut a pallet up a bit back and buried it in a bin.  Another time, a pair of tall steps that fell to bits.  Woodworm.

They never seem to look at what the contents are.  Possibly due to the bribe... er, Christmas present they get from me.

For "click and collect" I believe.. Basically a way of thwarting distance selling regulations because its all of a sudden not a distance sale if the customer picks it up. Crafty

I still don't trust wire nuts for all they're everywhere in the US!

My grump is that my daily appears to have out of the blue started using something like a litre of oil every 200 miles without it apparently going anywhere...And I can't get the camper MOTed until the middle of next month.

I have had fewer problems with wire nuts when they're used properly than with chocolate block type screw fittings.

Windows 7. Yes I like my PCs like my cars, old but trustworthy.

My grump? A few weeks ago I got a message saying that This Copy of Windows is not Genuine. I thought WTF I have not changed anything. Wife accused me of visiting doggy website or something. Then the other day my wife got the same message. Found a solution using CMD.

Yesterday talking to our friend who runs a local IT shops  knew all about this. It seems Windoze wants everyone to change. I am not willing too change anything until it is really broken.

For what it's worth, Windows 10 is fine for day to day use and that was coming from a big fan of 7.

It's pretty mature now, you could customise it so it looks like 7 if you like. 

Only real gripe with many of the OSs since XP, is that a lot of the really usefu settings and tweaks are buried in menus/pages that are hard to find and haven't changed since Windows NT/2000. That gripe applies to 7 also. 

Otherwise, it's a stable, useful OS.

Took me ages to change to Windows 10 from 7. I still do prefer 7, but 10 is okay now and does the job. My main laptop is on 11 and is running fine* as well, but I really don't like it as an OS.

Some of our  hardware is not up to running 10. Plus we may have to upgrade other software too. The wife has a new Dell laptop with 10 on it.

  A few weeks ago.   Spain won't let me in because un vax.  Fair do's.

Then they say, Open house, anyone in, free for all.   So I book and pay to go the following week. 8 hours later, Spain 'sorry mistake not allowed in'.

Cancelled holiday, almost lost money, but Travel Agent D in L saved me.

Next review due 15 May, according to experts* expected to be allowed in. On Spain's review  ban extended until 15 June.

Sod Spain, I book Bulgaria, no test needed free for all.

Today 21 May, Spain, You can come now from today, with a test,

It's only 6 bleedin days since you extended the ban for  30 more days.

On the bright side. I'm going on holiday!
