Three weeks ago I fitted some new exhaust rubbers.  Noticed a clonk over bumps so I stuck my head underneath. One has snapped and the other three are 90% of the way there! FFS

My old silver laguna used to eat exhaust hangers too. The 2nd set I fitted I put a cable tie around the outside of them to stop so much strech

Then sent it to the scrappie before I could test the theory

Seconded with the cable ties, although that style of rubber shape looks like it would be a pain to do so.

Set off from a junction in the new* Rover 75 this morning and very, very slowly, a cupholder elegantly unfurled itself from behind the walnut dash...

Will the fucker go back in & stay in?

Will it fuck!

Another grump... The only panel on this caravan I broke up that was clean aluminium with no bonded on insulation or shite was the roof, it was a huge sheet of clean ally, painted on one side and shiny on the other. It's been folded up to fit in the boot of the car and today I tried to weigh it in (all 10 Kg or so of it)

Apparently the metal used in caravans is such a low grade that they refused to buy it. I needed my car empty and they wouldn't even have it for free! I'm starting to see why caravans get dumped in laybys so often.

Leave it out the front and half cover it up like you're trying to protect it, someone will be along shortly and 'lift' it.

...and then they'll try to weigh it in, only to be told that it's such a low grade that the scrappy won't take it for free. It'll be back out front not long after that....

Fucking arsenuggetting cockwomble...

No not Boris... me.

Bjornadette has been back on the road a mere 10 days after her many years laid up.

This prick forgot the car was an automatic, popped it into reverse got spooked when it started moving backwards stabbed for a pedal, hit the accelerator not the brake. The drivers door was open, as I was just about to get out, the door has hit the fence (of the house were supposed to be handing back to the estate agents any day now), snapping the concrete fence panel and bending the door!

Somehow the hinges seem to have escaped any serious damage as the door still opens and closes fairly normally , but it’s badly bent at the bottom of the door and it has also bent the wing a little...

Arse...

Any leads on a new door? I’ve popped a wanted thread on the wanted section...

Son has spilt a load of water into his expensive monitor and now the colours are “all funny”

Fuck it.  He isn’t getting another, I am sick and tired of replacing tech such as iPads and phones because he is a technological retard.  I had told him so many times not to leave a glass of water on his window sill in case the wind caught the blind and swept the glass down onto the monitor but apparently i’m a bloody idiot as that couldn’t happen....

Mine said his laptop was being weird and would I look at it.  When I picked it up a Litre of water ran out of it.

Shiply quotes.

Namely how they give you a figure and then when you message them they "revaluate" the job. One company added £100 to the price, another has just added £30...

Surely you have enough engines now? :P

In other news, decaff.

I decided I should probably decrease my caffeine intake in the afternoons / evenings so bought some decaff tea earlier. I already feel tired.

I know it'll be good for me in the long run but I feel like shit right now!

The number of units is no concern, it's the fact they're scattered across the nation and the increasing costs of movement that's the hassle.

I wonder, what is the biggest object (short of driving an entire car) that has been moved across the country using shitely relays? :D

My dad bought himself a Jaguar for his 50th. After 13 years, I think it's dead. The back came out on a roundabout (diesel? He's a proper giffer) and launched him into a sign.

Well, I just got the sack.

Too many staff and not enough money apparently, the exact opposite of when they hired me 5 months ago.

Been quoted £1440+VAT for a stainless steel exhaust system to fit the CX. Now have to work out whether I should buy this or pay my imminent tax bill. Hmm.......

I forgot the best bit actually. The accident happened when my mum and dad were out together, which meant my sister (who was down for the weekend) and her boyfriend had to go and pick them up in their rental car.

Now, my dad (a) knits to relax (yes, I know) and (b) is a bit of a hoarder. These things mean that my mum has imposed a yarn-buying ban until he uses the three cupboards full he already has.

You can guess what was completely filling the boot and spare wheel well, can't you? Turns out you can fit four adults, £800 of wool and a heavy silence in a Fiat 500...

Hang on, THREE cupboards of wool? And another thing, how is it possible to spend eight hundred QUID on wool in one trip? Is the stuff gold-plated or what?

£800 on wool strikes me as pretty easy to be honest

*struggles to understand how wool can cost that much*

Posted

..it's not that cheap to rear sheep just for wool, as the best wool is.  Then it needs cleaning, spinning, dying, batching etc.  £8-£10 a ball not totally unreasonable for something which is very nice.  Then you buy them ten or twenty at a time to get colour matching..

I don't wool, and you can do it a lot cheaper than that, but for really nice stuff...

I knit Peugeots instead.
