What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

There’s a field behind my house that had a couple of (full size) horses in it. Now and then they’d go for a gallop together across the field as if they were racing.

Recently a Shetland pony was put in with them. Now they just trot slowly letting the pony keep up. Touching really.

I wonder if they used the B&Q assembly point when it went up in flames 😂

In a morning I'll often see a woman out jogging, she's out there every day, fit as a fiddle. Next to her is a massive greyhound, one of the biggest I've ever seen.

She's 4 foot something and her little tiny legs are going like the clappers, and this greyhound is alongside walking at it's normal walking pace. It doesn't even have a "plod" on, it's just walking normally. I can't help but stare. She probably thinks I'm a pervert or something

I certainly back british farming, but that trailer isn’t displaying a numberplate and the tractor will be in red diesel.

DeInforced Hoes!

It's like chewing gum and this small length has stank out a whole 3000sq-ft workshop

fucking about in BeamNG Drive (a Video game), someones made a mod for scaling the vehicles/things in the game https://www.beamng.com/resources/carscaler.37262/

after the usual messing about, I had thought for an amusing setup, knowing the interiors of vehicles/things in this game are fully intractable etc

do you see it? :)

My mate and I used to play a game called "Nice Cavalier!"

It's basically like yellow car punch. When you saw a Cavalier, you had to be the first one to shout "Nice Cavalier!" and then you had the right to punch the other.

Haven't been able to do it for years, because we don't see each other so often these days and you don't see many Cavaliers now. However, the other day, we were together and we saw a Cavalier. The stars aligned, more or less. And I shouted it first and got the punch.

Maybe makes you grin but me feel stupid.

I was describing a girl in our office to someone and described her as "The blonde girl with the long blonde hair"  🤪

Now, I'm usually quite the introvert that likes being at home. Plus I'm fasting so I'm trying to keep myself free as much as possible, but yesterday it was actually nice to go out, see people and drive through places I've not seen or been to in a while.

Popped to the mosque in Halesowen, then Mum's in Birmingham which is usually my Friday must-dos. But I decided to pop to @Imhotep's to pick up a few bits and do a tad bit of car spotting. I used to live in Birmingham over 10 years ago so am fairly familiar with the roads, but used Google Maps in order to avoid the horrible traffic.

Except, in their infinite wisdom, the authorities decided to close off the junction from Bristol Street to Chamberlain Square roundabout as I came from Holliday St. So I had to double-back on myself and go through Gas Basin back out onto Broad St and eventually onto, Bath Row/Holliday Head towards Bristol St and follow that to the Aston Expressway. All the while having Google Maps telling me to double back and get back on the route it gave me.

Back in the day, this would have absolutely driven me to a rage, but this time I honestly wasn't bothered. It's been a long time since I've been around that area and it was nice to see it again.

Then after a good chin wag and few car spots, (one of which I spotted from the train when I first got the S-Type) I headed back out on the road, as the traffic was bad on the usual route I take to go home, M6/M5 etc... Google Maps took me through some seriously interesting routes through inner Birmingham. Perry Common, Upper Witton, Hamstead, through to Handsworth and then onto the M5, but instead of my usual turn off, it took me to the (for some reason then-) less busy Jcn 4 Bromsgrove/Birmingham interchange rather than Jcn 3 Halesowen. Within 45 mins of being in inner Birmingham, I found myself back in the fields and countryside of Belbroughton heading back towards mine.

Now, I love Birmingham, but I just couldn't live there anymore. No way. However, visiting it is nice despite idiot drivers (didn't encounter one yesterday) traffic pollution and simply too many people.

So a greatly interesting drive yesterday. Loved it.

Amazing what you find at the bottom of a lake!

73 Ford Galaxie dredged up after sitting at the bottom of lake Winnebago for 40 odd years. Quite a funny/stupid back story to it too and why it’s so far from shore which they mention in the video.

It’s actually in remarkable condition considering where it’s been for so long. Nice colour too!

Wonderful!

However, ’a four-figure sum’ including delivery from NZ seems very reasonable.

When I lived in NZ, the local paper (Whakatane Herald) was covering a British couple who were driving their Mk1 Fiesta from the UK back to NZ. I wonder if they ever made it.
