Best of luck xtriple. Based on some of your experiences posted on here, you shouldn't have to worry.

Exactly that.

We were lucky in that my wife was old enough to be exempt and remain on DLA.

But she could do things one day, that put her in bed for the next 3 days.

They don't see you the next 3 days.

Well today could have gone better.

It started with a couple of blokes knocking part of our fence down, which was surprise to me, so I went to see what the F*** was happening. Turns out the neighbour agreed it with my missus, who forgot to tell me, so que much apologising on my side.

So when the missus gets back from seeing one of her best friends I was a bit pissed off. This was not the mood to be in as I then found out that her friend's cancer is probably untreatable and may only have a few weeks left now as virtually all the relevant types of chemo have been exhausted. Needless to say she was very upset and both had been crying, which I hadn't noticed as I jumped in straightaway with both feet about the fence.

Get a dog

I've got a dog, that's why her cats don't come into mine.

Give your cat fleas so she doesn't want it near hers.

I told her it'd got kennel cough - a most infectious disease - some months ago and that it was on twice daily medication...

Not a fucking jot of difference did it make to her.

....a bit of poo is escaping quite frequently!

Would that help during the assessment?

That's me that is.

I get this. I know the speed limit is a limit not a target but when a 3.5 ton Sprinter is able to overtake these idiots with ease then it’s fair to say they’re without doubt driving too slow. It should be me being overtaken!

This times eleventy million. Ignore their phrasing of the questions - they need to know what you're like at your very worst, even if that only happens once or twice a month.

I draw the line at dropping to 25mph around clear flowing corners on a NSL road, especially when said wanker driver was doing 35+ through the 30zone before hand.

Yes it is a limit not a target however it amazes me how fast their speed changes the nano second you attempt an overtake.

It does my head in a flipping 54bhp 1.0 CVT Micra should seriously not be overtaking vehicles up hill in a NSL zone, I've followed then due to oncoming traffic and sure enough once we enter the 30zone they are off at 40mph... WHY JUST FUCKING WHY!.

What pisses me off is that if you do then overtake them safely and legally you get attitude from them for doing it! Flashing Iights and gestures and they’ve got no reason to get so irate. If they’d make ‘sufficient progress’ and get on with it people wouldn’t need to overtake them.

Still, fuck em! As long as I do it safely I’ll just be on my way and not held up by them.

Just had  a call from them to change the time - 9:00 instead of 9:30 so had to change the taxi etc. Thanks for all the advice I shall take it on board. I have been on DLA for ages and have a lifetime award but DLA is ending completely so everyone is getting the call to go see them. Been dreading it since I got the letter and I know I shall not bother going to bed tonight, won't sleep so may as well stay up and watch shite on telly.

Chester enjoys his 3:00 am walks! :) Last night took him out without his lead - his first time ever to be allowed out without it and he trotted round the usual route as if he was still on it!

I remember the days when I used to have Micras cutting in front of me then immediately slowing to about 28 mph.

This is part of the test. Being capable of organising a taxi, and a change of time, means you're very capable.

I can't help, because my mother in law got zero points despite me taking the day off to help her limp in.

The fuckers.

Fecking CeX: Ordered hard drive, received suspiciously light parcel today, open it, get invoice for hard drive, only to have the contents be a DVD collection of All the Small Things instead of a 500 gigabyte hard drive.

Can't blame them for their customer service though. All sorted for now.

Not quite correct.

If you were on lifetime, and age 65 or over on 8 April 2013, you remain on DLA .

Although to balance the world harmony, I ordered a Hive Thermostat from them (£99.99 new), cost me £38 and when it arrived they clearly didn't know that the nice black chrome stand it came attached to is a £40 additional extra.

I've been reading as well bloody scary shit, I don't think they want you to be on there at all.

I did the practice ones and I scored in the 20s on both sections, I used the answers from my application form so if they go on that... I did wonder about them changing the time if it was a test, you never know they seem to be cheeky fekkers and will try anything.

currently im fighting with ESA, but when I was actively fighting with PIP they did not change the time on me IIRC

(but with ESA I had to come twice in quick succession despite the assessor saying I shouldn't have to come again in a long time, which was a massive pain in the literal back, We where able to call them up give them an earful, where they rescheduled the appointment so it was not so close to the first, so make of that what you will, and when we got there they said the reason for it all, was an "IT error" fucked up the first appointment somehow...)

you can read about my rollercoaster ride in my invacar ramble thread, but I probably dont recommend reading it the day before your PIP appointment however as it wont help with the "shitting yourself" side of things

if it helps your perseverance with your cars despite your disabilities gives me hope for my ability to look after my future invacar :)

Ecp home delivery. Wife isn't too well so stayed in with her and ordered a fuel filter and map sensor for the van on same day delivery. Ordered at 8am and still nothing as of 8pm. Fuckin useless. At least they have taken the payment.

I have probably had a few looks as I take off past dawdling cars, nobody expects a Micra :D

Do you find people cut you up a lot?

I reckon I get cut up far more often in a small low powered car that people don’t expect to be going quickly.

No points, then another assessment, no points, no points on appeal.  Then spent 6 months living on inheritance before running out of time

Oh, that's what that is.

Currently in hospital. Wife took a turn for the worse. High priority case when I rang 111. An ambulance will be with us in 4 hours. Fuck that,in the van and straight down to derby. Severe migraine attacks again. Slurred speech and blurry vision. Dumped the van in 1 of the 10 waiting area car parks and put blue badge in window. I am not well enough with my walking today to go traipsing round the grounds so half expecting a ticket too. Oh joy. Hate hospitals.

Woman next door keep shutting my cat in.

I have two cats, one she claims is nasty, fights with all of hers - he never goes anywhere near

- I'm guessing she's shooed him away at some point.

The other one is cute and she clearly encourages it inside.

She has nine cats of her own & claims that she's unaware that mine is in.

Then she mysteriously finds it & brings it home wrapped in it's own special blanket

I'm becoming very, very pissed off.

I've lived next door to her for 30 odd years, but this is the first cat to go in there regularly.

Last night when I went round to ask for it back again, her bloke said that perhaps I should 'have a word with the cat'.

She mumbled something about not being able to see when the cat's in

And I grumped off saying something along the lines of,

'Try fucking looking for it then...'

I am also annoyed with myself for swearing.

I rang the RSPCA who unsurprisingly are totally useless. (I had dealings with them many years ago about an ill treated cow and stopped my regular donation as a result). They suggested that I contact the police as cats are property and the woman is stealing!

Anyone any ideas how to approach this?

ta

You don't own a CAT. It owns you. Our old cat, used to keep next doors lap warm. They were both old. When we called Annie in for the night, the old lady with no legs below the knee would power her wheel chair to the door and send Annie home.

Annie was a rescue cat and proper mentally unstable but somehow she knew to be nice to this lady.
