Tape player might benefit from a blow-through of switch cleaner plus a few goes with a head cleaning cassette. The Blaupunkt in the CX has a dodgy tape player, but giving it a slap gets the mechanism working!

I think @sierraman said something about these old Ford radios gradually breaking down as they age (My Mondeo one is kaput) - but usually there are others that might work are on ebay - however, I think the 80's ones cost a few quid now. trigger

beko1987
That's a bargain on the tyres, 4 tiny 14" Rovelo budgets for my ZX only cost £6 less (although fitted as well)

michael t
Brilliant Stuff Trigger, one of my earliest car memories was seeing one of these parked up at the Botanic Gardens in Southport on a boiling hot summers day. The shiny black leather and the walnut dash blew me away, I was bout 8-9 at the time (2003-04)
vulgalour
I hope I've not imagined this, but those two squeezeball things either side of the centre console by the front seats, are those the air pumps for the lumbar adjustment on the seats? I was also confused to see a corroded wheel trim, didn't realise that style of wheel was actually an alloy!

(Enable wheeltrim pervert mode) Ford had a similar design plastic wheeltrim on the 1988 Escort LX, pretty sure it was specific to that model, that was the same double square hole but more of them. vulgalour and Ohdearme
trigger
I've been chipping away at Project GILF over the last week... So that's what I started with, I attacked it with the grinder and wire wheel and ended up with this. Not great, as I don't even know if the car drives yet and it's low value I don't want to spent loads of money on new arches so I treated the rust to Kurust and got the fiberglass and filler out. And whilst at it also cleaned up the bird poo welding along the sill. After some etch primer, zinc 1982, underseal, waxoyl and lots of other pissing about things started to look better. I also gave the side a quick mop. And the bonnet, you can see the difference! So that's where I am at the moment, once I've finished this side I'll have to turn it again and start all over again in the other side... trigger
Thanks, considering it's been painted with a rattle can I'm really impressed with how well it's come out, especially the white, it's a perfect match and even the finish is spot on, the grey was a little harder as I struggled to find a match at first until I found this on Google. So I had a can of XSC1978 made up along with a can of matt lacquer and it's pretty good, it's slightly more silver and it's reacted a small bit but I'm being super fussy really. trigger
Class word, is the grey part plastic trigger?? Sent from my VFD 710 using Tapatalk Yep, the lower half on these Scorpio's is plastic mouldings which matches the paint on the sills. I've just took advantage of eBay's 10% off offer today and ordered a set of 195/65/15 91H Toyo CF2 tyres for £115 which seems pretty fair, I've already made a start rubbing down the alloys so I'll be able to get them painted and the tyres fitted now too.
