I had a formal complaint to the ccc , when I mentioned in a column, that I didn’t like Kettering as a place for the annual rally. I’d specifically gone via oxford to collect my brother in laws xantia to take for the xantia anniversary, sadly the meeting place was also a huge car boot sale with public access to the Citroen area so you couldn’t leave things out to sell.

I’ve not been to Corby so can’t comment.

Used to be shoes in kettering and steel in corby , no steel in corby and no shoe factories left in kettering 

As children we used to wander round the quarries on a Sunday,  fossils were everywhere , the huge drag lines were just sat there, no security , they were massive

2 of my cousins climbed one of the gibs,  at the top they found a huge spanner big enough to go round your head which they obviously threw off the top dddooooiiinnngggg it echoed round the quarry 

I've thought about the poor bastard that had to carry it back up there on Monday morning

In my early 40s, I did an industry training course in Kettering. It seemed to have no redeeming features, even the course miss-spelt the industry name on the information folder!
