yes paddy roads are that bumpy :D

Are they still bad? I’ve not been there for about 30 years but I had a Daihatsu Fourtrak at the time. It got so bouncy even on the main roads we had to keep to about 45.

That page is full of clowns but that's the first literal one.

Budget probably £4.99 including postage and installation too.

Yeah, it's riddled with people who expect to find someone who will draw up and 3d print an entire front bumper for less than the price of one from the scrappers. Utterly missing the point.

First grin is that I went and caught up with one of my mates on Sunday, and discovered that his cider making obsession has resulted in approximately 700 litres of very pleasant cider on tap.

Second grin is that he just bought this:

I’m very much looking forward to going out for a run in that!

I'd never heard of Corvettes running on cider before !  What octane is it ?

I wouldn’t pay that for a T shirt even if I won Euromillions (€66m this week). Doubt if I’ve even paid more than a fiver for one, definitely not £10 anyway.

You've not been shopping for clothes at the Cancer Research charity shop in my local  town.  Feck me.  You can't get anything under £15.

They had a coat in the window for £220.

Vivian Westwood it might be, but its been there 4 weeks.

We had a company conference yesterday which inevitably ended up in the hotel bar. Our (extremely mad) recruiter was telling us some of her antics from previous jobs and I literally had tears running down my face at some of her exploits. Not sure the other guests in the bar found it so funny and were looking daggers at our table. During her tales, a workmates smart phone kept warning him of excessive noise (94db) 😂😂

We've been chasing a client for information for months with no luck. Tuesday our Head of Operations got involved, tore them a new a-hole and said we wouldn't deal with them again until we got the info we needed. They've promised to have it all to us by Tuesday. She stands up for us and doesn't take any shit. The rest of the time she's a pussycat.

Very good service at one of my local hospitals this morning.  Took PieDad for a diabetic eye screening, dropped him off outside the door with PieMum and his wheelchair, then drove a short distance away to park.  Found a parking space easily and by the time I'd walked back to the building he had already gone in for his appointment, no waiting time at all, and was able to pick him up no delay afterwards too.  A rare positive experience of this nature!

Also, PieDad is finally showing interest in trying to get back to walking properly again - he's walked short distances without his frame over the last couple of weeks, and has now bought a rollator thingy which he is getting on well with.

Had a great walk around Grasmere Lake this morning, was absolutely stunning and the path was good fun.

The far side away from the road is a really nice walk. You don’t have to climb the fells for a decent walk with great scenery.

Took the Jag to the welder for an assessment.

Passenger side is worse than the drivers one. Total including underseal, £1600! And a lead time of a couple of weeks. That's cool for me. I'm due to get a loan from work as we're moving onto monthly pay, plus weekly I get a fair amount.

The lads were properly friendly and know their stuff as they've done a tonne of these Jags.

Thanks to @red5 for lending me his Noco battery booster. I need one myself.

@Lord SterlingI assume they do a proper job for that price rather than a quick and dirty patch job?

Yep. During a comms between my old garage and the welder, it was said that they'd rather do a proper job, they will not do what they called 'dirty tack welds' as this would cause more problems in the future, plus they underseal too.

When they were assessing the car, they seemed to know what they were talking about and generally have a lot of Jags/other older vehicles going there, hence I've had to book it in.

Bit of a grim day and it was lashing it down when my alarm went off at 6am to walk the dog, so I let her hop in my bed and we had a snooze for a few more hours.

Weather still miserable so rather than go for our usual proper walk down the dale, I just took her down to the village pie shop to get one of their magnificent cauliflower cheese pies for my lunch, and on the way back we were passed by a lovely careworn DAF 45 towing a trailer full of pallets. Obviously the lack of any strapping, numberplate or working lights on the trailer are offset by the fact that it was sporting (at least one) wheeltrim off an early peugeot 306.

Doesn't get any better than that really.
