It's worse than that.

I think of something I need to look up, or order, and by the time I get to a computer, two or three minutes later, I have forgotten what it was.

Then remember days later and go through the same ritual.

Michael vaughan on the cricket

What a cnut he looks

Suit jacket but round t shirt

His trousers are too short

No socks and wearing trainers

And that without him saying anything

Twat

I actually like him a lot more since he had his wings clipped by the ECB, before that he came across like he was channelling Geoffrey Boycott.

I’ve just had to give a colleague a lift to pick his car up from the wrong garage he left it at and then follow him while he took it to the right one for its MOT 😂

My short term memory has gone all to shit since a bad covid spell a couple of years ago.

It's getting to the point where I'll go into a room to do something, get distracted by something and completely forget what I went in there for in three 1st place...

I started couriering in the pre satnav days and thats brought back some nice memories. I used to get the Philips map books, one for each county, I don't remember ever getting rid of them so assume they're either in the loft, under the stairs or buried at the back of the garage or shed, I must have a look for them.

I always bought a 1 in / Mile later 1:50000 OS map when I went on holiday , mainly for hill walking. Currently on my 4th Lake District map.

I also trawl charity shops for old ones for places I’ve lived or know well.

On my way to said funeral today on the A2, saw a Deloeran in full replica mode.

I saw one on a trailer at Brenley Corner a few weeks back - maybe the same one?

I'm just really glad young female golfers are smashing the sport's traditional patriarchy ;-)

I was on the way to Brenley Corner at the time.  Seems likely.  There can't be that many around here.

Ive been like this for years. Have put it down to being a hardcore stoner from the age of 13 - 30 for many years though in truth I think my pea brains just like that.

Had some great news today. Eldest Daughter took one of her GCSEs two years early and got the result today. We were hoping for her to get a 4 (low C in old money) but she's gone and got a 6 (high B in old money).

Really proud of her! She's already banked a BTEC in IT, and now a solid result in this course. She's starting another GCSE 1 year course in September which she's already done a 6 week taster course for, and says she really likes - so we have high hopes for that too.

Her school are really supportive of students undertaking exams when they are ready, rather than doing all of them at the end of year 11. This is really good in my opinion as it means she can really focus on 1 or 2 subjects per year, do the exam then focus on the next subject - instead of having to keep all the info for 9 subjects in your head all at the same time in the runup to exam season in year 11 like I did. She's already been looking at what she'd like to do at college in 2026 and is well on track to get the grades she needs to join the courses she's shortlisted. Based on the current trajectory she'll be able to just focus on Maths & English in year 11 so she only has 4 exams at the end of the year and can really focus on the revision for those two, having banked 3 other good GSCE/equivalent passes already.

Oh happy day!

Nothing too scary on the advisory list, suspension bushes and a gearbox mount (which I'll get sorted when it's back in for a look at the Haldex module).

I love Volvos.

I've needed some cheering up lately.  Wednesday I got sent home from work, complicated bereavement stuff hit me out of nowhere.. I'm doing okay today so no worries, I'll get through it.  August has been rough.  Was going to be hanging out with friends tonight but they had to cancel due to ill health so I've been feeling very out of it.

Then I spotted this monstrosity sat in someone's front garden.  Knocked on the door and it was free if I wanted to take it.

Housemate helped me get the top half of it on the roof rack, the bottom half I got in the car on my own after removing the rear seat base so it would fit.  In the Princess, that is.  Not a real antique, it's one of those modern rubber wood things made to look much older.  There's some real marquetry on it and maybe one day I'll strip the thick red finish off to reveal that better.  Not today.  Today it gets to loom in the living room.
