Those are pretty handy tools to have, I've a Draper version I picked up years ago and it's probably the most used thing in my tool bag. Though more as a light demolition tool than a decorating tool.

It became known as 'the dangerous tool', or 'Dangerous' for short, because the first few times I used it I managed to cut myself on the assorted sharp bits.

I've been paying a cheap fixed term life insurance with Royal London that was about £2 a month. I'd completely forgotten about it. Got a letter saying it was now an ISA with nearly 8k in it 😆

I'll probably use it as an overpayment on the mortgage.

a good recommendation there from @myglaren i nipped round yesterday and got a decent part worn fitted for £35, very quick service - only took 10 mins.

they have this giant junk sculpture guarding the entrance to the garage, must be 10ft tall, mighty impressive

We had my youngest daughter's 10th birthday party last Saturday. As usual it devolved into the usual free range parenting fest, what with the England being on the telly and everyone having a few sherbets and the kids were left to their own devices in the back garden. 

In an attempt to look vaguely responsible I collared the smallest child at the party when he popped back into the house.

Me: 'What are you doing out there?'

Five year old: 'We're summoning a demond (sic)'

Cue general surprise...

Summons eldest child (12)

Mrs warch: 'Eldest child, are you trying to summon a demon?'

Eldest child: 'Yes'

Mrs warch: 'Are you sure that's an appropriate activity for small children?'

Eldest child: 'Yes, well, its all bollocks really'

I'm not really up on demonic incantations (having mislaid my Ladybird Book of Witches) but they had gone as far as creating a portal to the netherhell and casting some mythic runes (see attached)

They had inscribed some demonic summons as well but had only got as far as writing Dai so unless there's a Welsh demon lurking around the premises somewhere I think we're probably ok (takes weeks to get someone out to perform an exorcism these days).

They all go to the same C of E school in our village, so I can't wait to see what happens when one of them gets asked what they did at the weekend.

I've taken apart the air purifier with a suspected bearing failure today. Very very very very pleasantly surprised! It's not a bearing failure, something was fouling one of the vents, and somehow sounded the same as a bearing failure.

It's made of the finest Chinesium, however, it's screwed together and not glued together, all the clips are sensibly sized and easily reachable to detach, there's enough slack in the cables not to rip anything trying to remove it, and plugs are different so you can't mix them up, all the screws are the same making it easy to put together. Much more expensive manufacturers could learn a thing or five from Xiaomi! It all went back together, cleaned it up, and it's as silent as it was before. On top of it, the motor with bearing doesn't seem completely inaccessible, the bearing is not sealed with some gunk so you could, in theory, slip a new one if needed.

Great result, didn't expect this!
