Where do all those UPS coachbuilts  go , after they've finished with them , I've never seen any for sale ?

Driven from Accrington to that there London town. Mostly empty towards, the M6 toll was a delight and progress was made.

The 406 excels at motorway speeds driving in quite comfy chairs. Very pleased I didn't get rid of it

I read an article on Jalopnik recently which covered this. Essentially because they’re so representative of UPS, once they’re done with them they get scrapped. Logic being nobody can get their hands on one and do harm to their brand.

From what I remember, they get their money’s worth though.

It’s quite sad really, I’ve always quite fancied one.

For anyone interested, this is the article: https://jalopnik.com/i-dont-care-how-rich-you-are-you-cant-buy-a-ups-truck-1827367916?utm_medium=sharefromsite&utm_source=jalopnik_copy&utm_campaign=top' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'> https://jalopnik.com/i-dont-care-how-rich-you-are-you-cant-buy-a-ups-truck-1827367916?utm_medium=sharefromsite&utm_source=jalopnik_copy&utm_campaign=top

Village snowplough had just been around so time to go stock up on the essentials before the -15°c nights arrive

I wish they had a 6th gear, but despite initially not being as comfy as the laguna I went to Grantham and back at the weekend and got out feeling much fresher than I did in the laguna!

You have been driving too many modern cars!

6 is just decadent. Plus at 70 (ish) it is just at about 2800 rpm so turbot available if you need to overtake.

Just handed in my laptop and phone into work... One day of unemployment then new job on Monday. Was hoping to spend the day welding my van, but daughter no 1 is off school with a stomach upset.

I forgot I videoed this 10 years ago. Me and the ultimate in bus shite on a scenic* tour around Gravesend. It wasn't a bad old thing to drive TBH. Complete with pantograph wiper arm in middle of the view.

After 6 long weeks we now have heating. We had hot water and lukewarm radiators.

The heating guy told us that our heating system was made of unobtainable.

So yesterday and today a new combi was installed.

Unfortunately MrsV8 has had a bit of a nightmare being home when all this was going on,with floorboards pulled up and new gas pipes installed.

It was all tidy and warm when i got in from work and can't see what all the fuss was about.

I am in love with this Rover 800. It's so corny to drive but it's like driving a T series powered sofa.

I need a VM powered one.

Fitted a new exhaust to the brick yesterday only £77 for 2 silencers and 2 pipes and the parts were off the shelf for a 20 year old car. Hopefully these shiny new parts will impress the mot inspector in a couple of weeks.

I decided to change my brake pads today, I've done 60 odd thousand miles on these pads and there was still over 10mm left on them

I spent a bit of time pulling bits off of the donor Puma today. The wheel nut key was nowhere to be seen,I thought I'd end up buying something to get them off.I thought it was worth a try hammering an old socket over 1st though,& it worked, only breaking on the last one  :-D

^^ conservation of momentum and looking far ahead in anticipation ftw

The Saph?

Proof that the best* way to slow for a corner is a Swedish flick. I seem to recall the pads lasting forever when I had a twin-can Sierra too, must be something to do with them not being overweight shit boxes like you get sold today.

Yes they are from the saph, part of me thinks I should've put them back in and come back in 10k time

I'd be very tempted to see how long they lased myself, if the brakes were still good of course.

Just nabbed a secondhand Doom Box for the Rover 75 (Roverron Synergy 2) off eBay for 60 quid.  Not too bad considering they're 150 new.  Hopefully it'll make the performance a little less sedate - although fitting looks to be slightly more involved than a generic Chinese box, it ought to be more effective too.

Yeah they were still good, I wanted to clean and grease the caliper sliders and brackets before winter so thought I'd put new pads in at the same time as I thought they would be a little thinner
