Good Old Boy?

Yep, Good Old Boy.

And some Mister Chubbs, Healer, Mister Swift and a few* bottles of Saarsbruker pils :)

Also blagged a couple cases of Spitfire from Sainsburys.

I've enjoyed Good Old Boy for the best part of 20 years, as I've always lived nearby. The Mr Chubbs is very nice too.

In a friend's cellar today and noticed the underfloor central heating pipes had no insulation on them. One of the gas pipes was fully lagged though!

So I went into a certain well-known, high-st used games shop on a mission to off-load some worthless tat (game shite?) and get a copy of something I wanted. The game I wanted was almost the same price as new but I wanted it immediately and no where local had it so decided what the hell. Lucky for me the dude behind the counter wasn't paying attention, got the figures back-to-front and debited the trade-in value of my old games and credited what would have been the difference to pay.

Heh, I think I know what you're talking about. They've given me games for free before, and a receipt saying I'd paid for them.

Stepped out of the house this morning, in a very quiet street in Sussex. An MG ZT V8 burbled out of a side road and caused me much excitement. Mrs DW and her sister did not quite share my joy...

Then went to the posh Classic & Sports Car show, got to ride on a couple of routemasters and saw this.

Now that's my idea of an electric car! I'd love one of those old milk floats. You don't see them much anymore.

So what were the waffles like?

I looked at the food prices and then headed into central London to buy lunch. Where it was cheaper...

I landed either the shittest thing I've ever owned, or at least the worst this year. More of that tomorrow.

I took the family to Barmouth in mid wales on Friday for an impromptu mini break. The PT Cruiser went really well, but the windows kept steaming up....FFS, I suspected a leaking heater matrix but after having a good think I removed and binned the badly clogged pollen filter. No more steamed up windows. RESULT! it was a pleasure to drive there and back too.

Went to Costa in T5 today, realised I'd left wallet in the car after ordering Double Espesso, that's OK I'll use ApplePay, I thought . Couldn't remember how to do it , even though every time I look at my Nat West app. It appears. Lots of tutting in the queue, until eventually an Arab bloke who was next inline, said he'd pay the £2 just to get rid of me- result!

Decided to get into the Halloween spirit with a back driver in the Rangie:post-5584-0-28162000-1477838879_thumb.jpeg

We think he may have gender issues!!

On another note if he keeps the P38 voodoo demons at bay he can stay!

NSPCC charity book fair yesterday - an annual treat that we really look forward to.

Didn't disappoint, either. £11 all in for this little lot.

The Shackleton / Endurance book is just brilliant, with lots of quality images of the expedition team aboard Endurance during / before and after it was smashed to smithereens by ice floes - on what was essentially still her maiden voyage. There are 110 year old colour photos, too.

The unexpected gem was the Railway Carriage Album. From the dated design (yes, I judged the book by its cover) I assumed it would be rubbish, but no.

It's full of gems like this '38 luxury articulated diesel train (Voyagers don't seem much of an advancement after 60 years TBH), GWR rail-cars and the double-decker EMUs of the Southern Region.

Also, when it was printed (1966, fifty shillings to you, sir) it referred to the BR MK2 rolling stock prototype (named BR XP64 and based on the Mk1, which wasn't yet named Mk1) as being The Future!

I had that Observers book with the 4i on the cover.

Sadly I wrote in it quite a lot as I was 9 at the time.

I wonder where it went?

Getting rid of stuff via the AS free topic and find there are some very nice peeeps on Autoshite but they don't keep pointlessly mouthing off just to up their post count.  Less is more?

I have to ask, are you on Peugeot 306 forums under the name Rippthrough? I remember from there that Rippthrough helped run an off road racing buggy which ran a BMW V10, then a rotary (as you mentioned in the rotary engine thread) and also did mental fabrication stuff, like wavy brake discs for 306s, amongst other things. Also had a 306 1.4 making 100hp until it shat its gearbox all over the road.

I was me-tm over there, and on the Carmageddon forums too... Yeah, I'm an internet stalker or something.
