We used to have one in Leighton Buzzard called "The Frying Dutchman".

A grin which I forgot to mention at the time - my neighbours have gone away on holiday, and as usual I've offered to water the plants etc. whilst they're gone.

After they left I got a text from them; 'we forgot to say before we left, but feel free to park your cars on our driveway whilst you're away if it helps you for space, it'll look like someone's home too'.

It has actually been very helpful to have somewhere to park the moderns whilst I've been shunting shite around on my driveway.

I was sitting 2 cars back at a set of temporary traffic lights when the car in front decided to use the in and out pub car park between the 2 sets of lights to avoid sitting any longer. Unfortunately as he went past the red light into the car park it turned green so the whole queue got through while he was stuck at the pub exit. Must admit, I grinned a bit at that.

Went and did a "Friday big shop" in the Fiat. Nothing broke. It drove nicely. Everyone smiled. Honestly Italian cars are witchcraft.. you never know if something will fail or not, if it will fix itself or not, and the only way to treat them is to rag around like your arse is on fire and enjoy the ride. I love old Italian cars.

This is a huge problem. Most people aren't actually carrying any cash and since Covid, some businesses have decided that money is dirty and carries germs.
Then, like the huge sweet lorry (traveller type) that was at an event yesterday, they had a sign telling people why they were cash only.

Most of the reasons said "tax dodging" to me. Things like "Little jobs that are done as cash-in-hand" (not relevant to a business that's clearly turning over thousands of pounds a day at an event like this). Saying that the Government wanted to see where money was being transacted.

Because I'm an office worker, I pay a shit load of tax, because loads of other people don't. I keep saying, if everyone paid 20% on everything they earned over a certain amount, we wouldn't need 40 or 45% tax rates and the thresholds could be raised.

I've really gotten into baking over the last year. I know it's not for everyone but I find tremendous escapism in it, and an excuse to use about 3 and a bit packs of chocolate fingers. Also I got in touch with the bloke who bought my second Twingo and he's giving me back the number plate my dad got me for my 18th birthday. That's not just superb, that's Skoda superb.

Why bother with the gravel? Just park over a storm drain.

Kinda looks better that way up anyway. Didn't mind sitting at the red waiting for nothing to come at all.
