What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

I really am enjoying having a shit old van to tool around in again.  It reminds me of my misspent youth when shit old vans were all that was in my price range.  I've pretty much always had a van on the fleet, but the last few have been far too civilised, with turbochargers, ECUs, airbags, electric windows etc.  The last one even had cruise control FFS.  It's nice to go back to basics again.  And it's actually quite relaxing to drive - its complete inability to go fast means I don't even bother trying, I just let it trundle along at its own pace.  It's great fun.

I have no idea how this slipped past quality control at the Royal Mint but a limited edition coin themed on the works of H.G. Wells.

Maybe order one while the world is going mad in all directions, it might be worth a bit if we dodge the apocalypse.

I might be a half-pissed massively unobservant bell-end, but what's the problem with that?  What got past QC?  Looks alright to me.

And quadrapod issues aside, whoever drew the not-a-tripod has clearly never read the bloody book.

I was behind an M3 E91/2 touring............. People do make their own and the rear of this looked accurate.

However, needless to say I set fire to him.

Panpan 4x4 rear seats were highly illegal.

So as I'm a genius, I folded flat and covered with an invisibility cloak known as a picnic blanket.

They rang and said failed mot... Seats don't fit. 😒

I didn't bring up the fact they moved them. I said just remove the seats and mot.

OK. 👍🏻

The grin here- it's got a shoe on top, just stuck my 1980's Sears 007 flash into it, hooked the wire up and the damn thing only goes and triggers the flash properly.

The camera equivalent of buying a Lanchester and having a turbocharger from an Escort RS Turbo fit straight on...

Phil

Sir,

There's two different flask/shutter synchronizations. Older type for flash bulb where flash starts shutter opens and closes then flash stops  ,  newer type (electronic) where shutter opens flash starts and stops then shutter closes.   Houston - you may have a problem.

Received a COVID stimulus payment from the US government - despite leaving in 2019.  For whatever reason, if you were a taxpayer that year you get the stimulus.

Thought about getting a shrinker / stretcher for years but the price is fairly up there for an occasional use tool. But when the price of these from germany was too good to resist i Finally hit the buy it now.

First test seems good.

I suspect most US stuff of that nature is in large part from China, it's impossible to get close to their pricing and stay solvent for low end manufacturing; I think the US operate a percentage system, assemble chinese bits in a shed in Duluth and you get to slap a "Made in the USA" sticker on the box.

Went to Leeds to take mrs. support bubble to a medical appointment. Took the disco as inclement. Somewhere on the M1 it rolled over 200,000 and didn't burst into flames or anything. Didn't even have anyone crash into me like I was half expecting. Here's to next 100K
