I liked the Salvage Hunters spin off series The Restorers which shows the people doing restorations of the old tat Drew has bought.

The upholsterer is great.

Currently browsing Ebay for electric wheelchairs etc. Had to chuckle when I saw this ramp:  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOMCOM-Aluminum-Folding-Wheelchair-Ramp-for-Scooter-Pet-Equipment-Mobility/292396061024?epid=22012517973&hash=item441429d160:g:ruoAAOSw~o5acpP6:rk:18:pf:0   Come on granny.  Time to go.

Just heard through the grapevine that our well known local menace has ploughed his riced up Focus (which hasn't been taxed, insured or MOTed since 2014) into the back of a parked up Volvo Olympian at around 50mph.

Best bit? Apparently he broke a leg in the incident, so wasn't able to dispose of the few kg of drugs in the boot before the police showed up...

Apparently damage to the bus is limited to the panel under the engine cover needing a paint and the cover itself needed a kick to get it shut again. They built those old tanks well back in the 90s...

Read this, hilarious stuff. Guy mods car on PCP, it packs in and they wash their hands of it.

I’d love to have been a fly on the wall at the Service Desk when they told him to GTFO with it. It’ll have no doubt gone to auction, there’s no way on earth you’d be retailing crap like that.

Had a quick look at that thread, I bet a 20p handbrake shim that he's fitted a Billy bollox head unit and it's that messing up the diagnostics.

Thread is from 2008, so quite a while ago back when PCP started becoming really popular. So it's fair to say he might not understood the ownership situation. Also when new cars suddenly lost loads of value.

Given its the TFSI it's likely shat it's high pressure fuel pump because it's remapped. Remaps are too hard on the stock pump and it wasn't realised until a few years later.

Brother had new tyres fitted to Range Rover. He very happy with his new all season snow and mud tyres for his car. Also enjoys looking down on all the puny Fiat Puntos et al at the traffic lights.

I hope you didn't get any brake fluid on your hands when you cut the hoses.....

Today I went to see Kinkersaab of this parish, to drink his coffee and generally catch up. His mechanic was in the workshop working on his own car, an AMG 630 Merc estate. He had just fitted a new airbag to the suspension, and started the car to test it. It of course refused to raise the rear of the car, at which point Kinkersaab uttered the immortal phrase "it goes up as reliably as a pensioners cock" :-)

Seems it was a failed relay.

What the hell was that originally?!

I like how the right exhaust is so obviously fake and not connected.

Work let me have use of the director's season tickets to West Ham today, so my little boy who loves them got to go to his first match.

I had to sit in silence, being a Newcastle fan... :D

Castrol 5W20 fully synthetic

£2:20 litre in Asda

The one oil that "mayos" in my omega. Unlike Asda own brand.

Bus companies insurance will pursue a loss of use claim Whilst it is repaired and hopefully everyone on the bus will i

Have whiplash too.

I've been tinkering with the Buick to find out why it's so slow. New plugs, air filter and even a compression check.

Mooching around under the bonnet this morning I spotted a detached cable. Turns out it's the kickdown cable.

Re-attached it and the old barge now does sub 12 second 0-60 :)

Sounds fucking ace now that the V6 can rev :)

Too much like hard work even if it didn't compromise the tyre.

Sooner buy new ones and have done with it.

Unusual for Gumtree to feature in this thread, but I nabbed a nearly new 90AH battery off there earlier for a tenner.  Stuck it on the Volvo to try it out - I haven't heard the old crate spin over that quickly in years!  It doesn't actually fit any of the fleet (although it might fit in the Buick if the battery tray were a little less fragile) - it's going to be primarily used for jump starting duties - with the addition of a decent pair of jump leads it'll make a far better (and cheaper) alternative to a jump pack.

Watching East is East, it's set in Salford in 1971.

At one point the family central to the plot drivefrom Salford to Bradford.

The sequence for them driving from Salford to Bradford starts at Howden and Derwent reservoirs (up a dead end road only accessible from Snake Pass), then drive down the Snake towards Glossop (the wrong way), which is signed as Bradford - the Bradford scenes are shot somewhere else completely.

This aside, why would you even be at the Derwent reservoirs driving from Salford to Bradford? You'd go via Bury and Rochdale.

I'm grinning cause I know the locations used, and how wrong and daft it is.
