  1. Reading through that I was expecting you to put the BRM seats on frames and in the living room.
  2. Anyone else see E86 Z4 coupe in that rear end?
  3. I read about it on an old page on a Land Rover website, the writer of the website had contacted Rotodama for more information and apparently a drawn out house build project (with truck coming in handy) had delayed things. You can probably add covid to that now. It appeals to the irrational part of me that likes old Land Rovers and there's plenty of irrational people out there who like old Land Rovers and buy all sorts of shit. I doubt the Rotodama people will end up as rich as Elon Musk but likewise I don't think they'll end up like Preston Tucker.
  4. Rotodama. A blt on kit to turn a rusty old Land Rover Discovery into a Forward Control pickup. http://www.rotodama.co.uk
  5. If you’re looking for Bespoke Bentleys from Brunei then you can’t pass up the Dominator. https://www.carscoops.com/2018/05/bentley-dominator-meet-rolls-royce-cullinans-long-lost-daddy/
  6. A few years back (2013 I think) LaquerPeel posted the photo above and simply described the location as "Aberdeenshire", I asked whereabouts but he couldn't/wouldn't tell me. I had a rake around the flat bits of Aberdeenshire on google street view but didn't find it. About six months later I drove past it but didn't stop as it was chucking it down. The google street view image dates from October 2008 and the truck was in relatively better condition, there's no hole on the scuttle under the driver's windscreen. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@56.8879392,-2.4193326,3a,60y,100.78h,88.96t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1szHFiPDP9a2rlQdysUSesgQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 The big sheds to the left are actually the former fire station for Fordoun Airfield (WW2 vintage but no flight use since 1995), note the stone built ramp for truck maintenance. Fast forward to this evening and google maps now shows two pins with businesses at the same location. McLachlan Marine has this drone shot on their website. The buildings are the same, there's now a wall next to the road but the truck ramps still remain. The orange van is in the layby and you can see the distinctive iron gate (two van lengths in front) where the Tudor truck was. The other business is the Grampian Trailer Centre who have this photo on their website. They now seem to occupy the whole site (not sure where McLachanlan Marine have gone), the black gate sitting against the wall is roughly where the truck ramp was and the distinctive iron gate where the Tudor was is visible in the background. Sorry @Saabnut, but I reckon its gone.
  7. I wouldn't quite say "Highlands", its 5 miles south of @Saabnut. Some of it might still be there, that photo is about 10 years old.
  8. They’re not just for snow, they work better when the temperature is below 8 degrees.
  9. Its such bullshit. Imagine how many hundreds of millions have been wiped off the value of the European classic car market because every idiot car dealer thinks they have to put the history through the shredder.
  10. Anecdotally, I remember people complaining about the Diy types not being able to fix air suspension. I remember hearing people bitch about efi and laughing at them 25 years ago. I’ve read stuff from 1970 in which people bitch about that new fancy Land Rover and how it wouldn’t catch on. The Range Rover Classic lasted 26 years. I reckon there has been people bitching about newer cars for about 120 years or so.
  11. How have we got 10 pages in and nobody has mentioned the Maestro Clubman Diesel?
  12. Yet there’s at least three of them on here.
  13. I don’t have a huge amount to add to this. I have a similar driveway photo to the others, and can confirm it sounds glorious. Perhaps a video is in order? I’ve never seen it move and am quite glad it did as I was apparently captain sensible on this one
  14. Tarmac? On a frozen lake? Would it not have been easier to just use a road?
  15. How many left indicates that there are two diesel fluences registered in the UK. The other 49 cars are electric. Not sure there’s been anything else from a major manufacturer that’s flopped that badly in the UK.
  16. There seems to be plenty of fluid in that taillight. I think you need this sticker for the rear.
  17. I don’t know about the L322 but the p38 could display 110 error messages on the dash .
  18. Does that mean they were all on when you picked it up?
  19. Doug DeMuro wants to travel in the safest way possible at the moment. Decides to drive across the US in a new Land Rover Defender.
  20. Petrol engine, wheels refurbed, front end updated and what looks like rather nice interior.
  21. There’s vat on top of road fuel duty as well.
  22. After the Captchca I get this.
  23. There’s also a very good book about riding one around Australia. https://www.waterstones.com/book/is-that-bike-diesel-mate/paul-carter/9781857886535
  24. I had a ‘98 Audi A3 Tdi about 10 years ago, the engine was great but there were so many little things which had been cheaped out, brake callipers, wiper motors, door catches etc. Definitely trading on a long gone reputation for quality.
