I've just rediscovered Barryboys. Their usual fare is quite entertaining for a while, but the highlight so far has to be this:

*kof*Maybe now is not the time to admit that my previous 635CSi had this in the driving seat:

....but that was amateur night compared with the Merc.

Was at my parents in laws earlier. Young nephews were there too.

To keep them occupied, their granny had dug out some of the their dad's old toys from the attic.

What a fabulous game that was!post-5582-0-25729300-1514848905_thumb.jpg

Reading the "care and maintenance" section of my moped engine, seems they figured it out where Rover failed:

"As with all engines that clamp the head through the block to the crank case, the bolt torque should be checked every 50 miles of use to prevent head gasket failure".

That is what was missing from the handbook of any vehicles with a K-series in, right there.

Passing through a dodgy part of Wolverhampton yesterday (Scotlands, A460 Cannock Road) I espied a promising-looking indy motor factors called Paul's Car Spares.  Lucky me, I'm in again today, so I shall take a closer look.

Was squinting quizzically at the car in front of me, trying to work out what on earth it was - penny dropped.

Daihatsu Sirion.

Must have been the 1.3 because it saw my Streetshite off at the lights and shot off into the distance at many leptons. Don't think it was the pimped up Rally model tho'

Got home from work to find the roof light off the camper van was sat on my doorstep. Initially confused, I realised hurricane Maureen must have blown it off, and someone picked it up off the street and fetched it round to stop it getting any more destroyed. I've no idea who did though.

Don't get me wrong, it's smashed up to bollocks but at least it was easy enough to cable tie it back to keep the rain out til I can swap it properly.

Welcome to my evenings!

Having signed up for three strongwoman competitions this year, Mrs_Pillock is now watching them all in a binge fashion.

And then I do like watching the darts, despite being crap at them. I think it's because it's dead quick.... Thud, thud, thud, someone's winning and it gets exciting, thud thud, someone wins, start again. None of this tedious 90 minutes of hoofing a ball around with the possibility of nobody winning.

ST got picked up yesterday but only managed to ring the garage today about what extra damage the collapsed spring might have caused.

"nothing else" was the reply! Was a bit surprised as when I got my hand in all the flex was out and it made a horrible sound moving it but so far they don't even think the tyre was damaged.

They did say they'd ordered springs plural so the other side must have been going too. This is now the second time they've fired off.

Good. News is it's all while been sat at home on the drive or just outside and the last time was over 7 year ago.

When I had an old coachbuilt mine left the party somewhere between Santa Pod and Redcar, the trouble was I didn't know until a week later. It was over the kitchen luckily.  About 12 years ago I paid £38 for new Fiamma? one. I think they get brittle with age, light etc.
