Another cracking day at the FOD.  The Laguna ran faultlessly all the way there and back.  This happened on the way back:

20220326_232556.thumb.jpg.a397ca0687beac7bfd0bf406da49c1d9.jpg

I'm evidently losing the plot though as I arrived home to find that I'd left the 75's boot wide open all day.  My tools were all still there though - one advantage of living in the arse end of Norfolk...

Thanks again to the Cylinders for their hospitality.

I have looked out of my office window and it looks inviting for day two of the FoD.

I have even remembered to put my clocks forward so I will be there on time about 10am.

I will start this mornings service with a Hymn .................

Thanks to @Six-cylinderand @Mrs6Cfor another great day at the FoD yesterday. It was good to meet several familiar faces and some first timers. In fact I enjoyed it so much I may be back again today.

We have retired to the house early because of a cold wind.

Visitors welcome at the house this afternoon.

Last time I went to the BIC was for a UNISON national conference in 2012.  You will have a better time!

My mum's at that, I'd better warn her there's a mentalist in the area.

No, hang on, that's just Bournemouth...

Day two of FoD was less well attended, but never the less was useful and enjoyable.

@bobdisk managed to clean up the contacts in my BX plip remote so it works again now.

We could not get the  fusebox to lock into place as we don't seem able to push it in far enough with all those wires.

The Jinling worked all weekend without a brake down, or as @Talbot calls it the device that converts petrol into vibration! It gave Bobdisk the chance to try something different with less cylinders than his Daf.

Now how would a Saxo look on my drive!

Unusual end to a FoD weekend we went for a drive. @BL Blokestayed on for a while so coming from a  conurbation where I believe street knockers still awake the factory workers for there 6am start we thought we would show him some countryside.  The offer to our guest was any car on the drive for the ride out. Would have you chosen the same?

Well, apart from that one time when it mysteriously* started going backwards when you had it in forward gear...

Fantastic FoD, Thanks to @Mrs6C and @Six-cylinder.  Lovely fish&chips! And thanks to @catsinthewelder for tightening that awkward nut. Good hotel in Wimslow. Met a couple whose son was racing at Silverstone,  and had a good chat! @hairnet, that wing had a rotten rear end where mine is bent. Had an estimate of £1000-£1500 to repair the existing front wing, so thats not too bad. Had a go at the Jingling, shakey shakey! @Snake Charmer had offered to be National Rescue if the Daf conked out. It did once on the way there! But it was only the king lead fell off the coil. So services not needed. Got 70mph on the way back😁.

It doesn't look too out of place if I'm honest.

I arrived at the FoD yesterday around noon just as @Talbotand @bobdiskwere preparing to leave. The Saxo did have a chance to meet Bob's Daf before it went home.

A very big thank you to @Six-cylinderfor inviting me back to the house and to @Mrs6Cfor lunch and coffees. The drive around rural Buckinghamshire in a Mercedes was an added bonus that I definitely wasn't expecting.

One of the puzzles of the weekend was do I have the correct replacement radiator for the 1974 Triumph Toledo 1300cc RWD. The replacement I have does look a bit like the one in the Parts manual.

Anybody any experience of radiators in small Triumph saloons?

It looks pretty close, apart from the lack of drain cock and the take-off for the expansion tank being slightly different. Does it line up with the bracket positions?

Certainly looks right. On FWDs the 1500 is deeper than the 1300 but that's mainly down the starter motor being in the way. I've fitted a 1500 radiator and starter to mine, the starter issue is irrelevant to you, it's at the front of the engine on a FWD.

But you do need more of these angle brackets. And some 7/16 bolts.

Maybe you have those in a box somewhere?

Unfortunately when I got the car lots of bits were missing and there was no box of odds and ends.

Good Bye Clio!

yes my Clio is now sold with all the agony of Facebook.

10+ enquires

Lots of blind offers starting at £300.

First to view with plan for 6pm Monday, bumped me to 5pm Tuesday and then no show. Second arranged for an hour and half time last night, no show.

Third to view was a very polite young man on time this morning. Deal done and off he drove.

Sad to see it go, its been a great car, but I just can't keep everything.

Sorry couldn’t attend this weekend - looks like great fun! Meanwhile, our car was undergoing torture by shaving foam. Only only scar thankfully!

Get the shaving foam off sharpish!

When the Dyane wrapped its bonnet round the screen rail at 80+ in 2004, you could still read the 'messages of luurrrrrve' from our wedding 13 years previously...
