381 miles later I'm back home again after an uneventful drive back. Nice to be behind this set of instruments for a long drive again :-)

Thanks to @Six-cylinder and @Mrs6C for their hospitality, and the usual suspects for good company.

Illuminations were just about the only positive result with the CF:

NB, @hairnet isn't vomiting into his cup, at least as far as I know.

I'm not experienced, and haven't had one in bits in a couple of decades, but I'll take a look at the pump if nobody else puts their hand up.  I managed to sort one for an old David Brown tractor back then and that's still going as far as I know.

The one thing which did spring to mind is if it's just a bit gummed up, that getting it spinning over faster might be enough to get it going - i.e. give it a sniff of easy start to get it up to actual running speed and see if it lights off.

Also...the fuel line was hooked up right wasn't it?  I remember when I last saw it (in like, September) right as we were running out of time, daylight and electricity we figured out we were trying to draw fuel from the return rather than feed line...was that ever corrected?

Not sure how it's going to play out but if time permits I'll try to drop by again tomorrow.  It takes a lot of energy to get out the door but actually seeing friendly faces is really good for my mental health.

Also I have like five frames left on this film, should just have finished it today!

The longest serving member of the fleet is the E-Type which I have owned 40 years this month. Strangely I have remained friends with the seller who I did not know, just answered an ad in Thames valley Trader all these years and he still has another E Type.

At the other end of the scale the Ami is the newest, just 6 weeks  ownership.

Oh and the BMW E3 11 years of ownership.

The FoD Balloon Pit & Minor Injuries unit is open!

Minor Injuries unit? Is that because I've had to let @Slowsilver out without his carer today :)Sorry I couldn't make it but not feeling 100% and don't want to risk infecting anyone. Have fun everyone!

Don't worry, I handed him a hard hat as soon as he got out the Maxi.

Photographing a Jaguar E type and Citroen Ami while sat in the Cab of a slightly mouldy Bedford CF2, Autoshite or what? :)

the fire is always nice, and its always fun when we really get it going and have flames coming out the top like some sort of jet engine afterburner :)

and finally, behind the single spoke wheel of the Ami, which I got to pilot to the end of the paddock, was quite interesting to compare with the 2CV I had driven previously, at some point id like to drive the Ami around the field proper like I did with the 2CV for a full on apples to apples comparison :)

Many thanks to @Six-cylinderand @Mrs6Cfor  hosting a great weekend, although I was only there yesterday.

This time round it was the Rover's turn to make its first visit and just before entering the field this happened.

Shortly after I arrived the Rover was joined by one of its older relatives, also in silver.

DSCF3221.thumb.JPG.f3ad5536196333555ac1b855d53d927a.JPG

Further along the line there was a bit of contrast with the E Type and Ami side by side.

DSCF3220.thumb.JPG.c7998ec5d78346421b78de7368625d8d.JPG

I got a ride in the Ami later on as I went on the chippy run with @catsinthewelderand @hairnet. It was the first time I'd sat on a  bench seat since the 1970's when my Dad had a Mk3 Zephyr and never having been in a flat twin Citroen before I was surprised how noisy it was. After fish and chips it was off home  listening to Eurovision on the radio and as I arrived home I clocked up 3000 in the Rover since I bought it back in Feb 2019.

Already looking forward to the net one when the 205 may make an appearance. 🙂

I traced the feed line back from the lift pump to the tank, and stuck it in a jerry can.  Fuel *was* getting to the pump, just not leaving it! I thought initially it was trying to fire on one cylinder, but think the speeding up of cranking was down to low compression on one.
