I loike that LAPD chopper.
Is it from the 80's era?
Don't know how old the chopper is but it's currently in service with LAPD. Here's a local Fire helicopter for you.
Loving the Vista Cruiser
I think that was one of my favorites. I found myself looking for Vista Cruisers fore sail last night - turns out they're not cheap - $3,000 for a heap of shit (not shite) and $24,500 for an unrestored one that's been stored for the last 24 years.

The Pinto took it's design inspiration from P38s. It was a good couple of hours and the first time we have been on the base which is just behind our house. There were some F18s taking off and flying the circuit during the week so I expected to see them there today, but no - oh well! We were just laughing that I will one day enter the Rover into the show, but as it's been a loooong project with no end in sight we aren't planning on which year that will be...

I just spent a couple of hours on the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos - today was their annual Wheels, Wings and Rotors show www.wwrexpo.net
The usual array of super duper shiny restored classics, but still worth a browse. Plus the odd bit of shite lurking here and there. After two hours we were done as it's in the 80s and the humidity is a bit higher than we are used to here at the coast.

Here's a question. Is there a cold air kit for the P6 so you can pull air from down the front of the car rather than from the top of a hot engine. I know I could run a bit of tumble drier hose or something down there but is there a kit
for the the SD1 or anything that could be adapted?
You could try a NADA style hood scoop. Alan at Classeparts sells them on evilbay.

I want this sooooo badly it hurts...
I am actually getting short of breath, brought on by the panic that I might miss out on it.
I can't for the life of me figure out how I can explain/convince the wife that it's the right thing to do, then there's the purchase price and cost for collection as it's not exactly around the corner... fucketyfuckfuckfuck...

$3.50 for a pint of
Stellawifebeater in a local bar/restaurant - great happy hour food, even better as happy hour runs from 3 til 7 then 8 til closing. Only a 16 oz US pint, but well worth it nonetheless. -
I was given to understand that Herr von TEH Junkman was an eighth cousin thrice removed to our own very British* Royal house.
Of course there is some suggestion that his great great great great great grandfather may actually have married himself, thus confusing the lineage somewhat.

In the olden days we used to take our Series Landies to get MOTed at one particular local garage, we always took them in after lunch... why, after lunch and why the one garage you ask? Because the old fella that ran the place always had a liquid lunch and hated Series Land Rovers with a passion, so instead of actually inspecting them he just gave an automatic pass to get rid of us and our spawn of Satan vehicles.
Ah... the good old days!
Now I live somewhere that has absolutely no safety checks at all.

Oslo Revision of the 15th edition rules, minus the Third Marrakech Conference Amendments, except for the South Kensington Replacement Bus Service Protocol, I trust?
I don't think I could have said that
better. -
Unfortunately no success looking for Dan's bits and pieces, but I do now have a list and will keep an eye out for the future.
On a plus note I was out in Ontario for some bits for my dedicated CNG Crown Vic - I was looking for a fuel pressure regulator and I had been given a tip that the scrappy had an '02 in at the moment. Due to being made with ground up Leprechauns and Unicorn tears Ford list two prices for this one part number: fucking expensive and WTF? Is that decimal point in the right place, expensive ($980 and $2,500).
On another plus note scrappies (and most folk) know the best part of sweet FA about Natural Gas cars, so after some beard rubbage by the cashier I paid a massive $27. On the downside, this came from a car with 568,000 miles on the clock - no, that's not a typo. If anyone gives a flying fcuk I will put up a separate thread with Crown Vic fixage - could be fun as it is life threateningly dangerous and will involve playing with a fuel system that's pressurized at 3,600 psi - WCPGW?
Some pics...
Traffic? At 2 p.m. on a bank holiday Monday.... sheeeeeet.
That isn't... is it? Why yes it is - an Austin America
Sorry Dan... it looks like TEH Junkman and his rabid hoard of Autoshite scrap pillagers beat me to it
Still, what could be more fun than lying on gravel under a shitty Crown Vic in this kind of weather?

Yes, they do seem to be "taking them from our pen now"
I lost my mum last year, two of my friends have lost their mums in the intervening twelve months, it seems that the black tie is in fairly regular use. The worst of all was my friend lost her daughter, that's when it really starts to sink in.

Danthecapriman to the red phone please.
It's Monday 1:30 p.m. local time and I am making an emergency run to the scrappy in Ontario, California - there is a 73 2 door Lincoln MKIV and a 75 Grand Marquis in the yard (at least that's what the website says) if there is anything that you might need for your Mercury send me a pm as I'll get it on me phone.
If this doesn't get to you in time let me know anyway as I am sure my mate will want to make a trip out there once he finds out there's one out there.

Mate, bent cock aside, at least you're getting your beans, and that's got to be worth something. She fell over and bent him. Lovely bruise this morning.
Just go with the flow and enjoy yourself, it can all come to a crashing halt without a satisfactory explanation, so don't be shy, get all your dirty little fantasies out in the open while you've got a warm, soft landing spot...
Just my two pennyworth. Either way, have fun, and remember, pictures or it didn't happen...

This litigation comes from the same country where they have to put "The Cruise Control fitted to his vehicle is NOT an Auto-Drive function" into the owners manual of Winnebago's after some cretin engaged cruise going down the freeway and promptly climbed into the back to get make a brew and then sued when the vehicle crashed ***
*** I obviously read this on the internet so it's probably bollocks
I understand that they sued for a replacement vehicle and won.
Which one of the umptyseventh versions of this absolutely, honest to goodness true* not made up* story is the most believable?
Should either of you be interested in purchasing a bridge in Brooklyn, or a tower in Paris I would be glad to sell either to you.
