Apparently "1988 CX 25" may have been issued by the Doubs département back in the 1960s, so wouldn't have been carried by a CX.

When I worked for the Aylesbury Volvo dealer in August 1990 they bought 3 select plates to give away H300 VOL, H400 VOL, H700 VOL. The buyers of each model were put into a draw and the winner of each model type had the appropriate plate fitted to there car for free.
