I like them all, but for me it would be the Carlton. I've always had a soft spot for them and would really like one, but they're hard to find.

Merc is all the car anyone ever needs in life, so that's the winner for me.

Those Carltons were really good looking cars. Keep that one.

Do you have to sell the looser? 😢

If so, can someone please vote to keep the Mitsubishi? Thanks

Really, really can't choose between these three:

I'm not selling any of the four that are mine...

If the s124 was a diesel, then it would be a difficult choice.

As it isn't, then it's an easy Volvo 740 win. ALL THE SCOTS CANT BE WRONG🤣

Probably the sigma to keep for me. Followed by the ZX then the carlton, purely because thats the rarity order from my experience. Would rather keep the rare/unusual as you most likely can't buy it again!

Can I be weird and vote for the least significant of that lineup - the V70 T5? 😅

Mainly because they are a car within my radar :)

Mercedes got my vote, simply because I once helped you move a replacement tailgate for it and i Like old Mercs. Otherwise it would be the ZX, because Citroen.

Carlton followed very closely by the S124, Volvo V70 third and 740 fourth.

The Carlton is a rare thing these days, they just seem to have disappeared into obscurity, there was a Mk1 on EBay recently, lovely looking old thing in green. £2500 I think it was, which seemed stupidly cheap when you look at a Granada being at least double this.

I love Carltons and Mercs of that era but prefer large cars to be automatic, so would have to be the V70 T5.

Not interested in Mitsubishi and the Vauxhall, Mercedes has the wrong engine should be diesel. The Volvo V70 I don't like those and is auto, I love a 90 Volvo 740 but it's auto and thats kills it for me but It is possible to convert it to manual, which has been done a lot here, but if I have to keep the car original, it will be the Citroen ZX.

I voted 740. But could also have gone for the Merc. Both are close to the best cars either manufacturer ever produced imo.

740 edges it for me by being that bit more individual.

I loved that Mercedes when I was looking after it, but the 740 is the clear winner IMO.

Volvo 740.

Is that Kevin on the roof?

V70 or the ZX.

Those are quite personal opinions though.

V70 because very little in life sounds as nice as a 5 cylinder on song. It would really need a nice panel or cone air filter for those buttery induction noises. A standard T5 airbox doesn't quite give you the full experience.

ZX because I'd lovingly feed it vegetable oil and endlessly enjoy the cheerful character of an XUD.

I've got to go for the later Volvo purely based on my experiences with the following generation - though I have near zero experience with any of the earlier 200/700 series cars so would potentially shift my view if I did.

Posted

I think you should sell the V70 to me. Hope that helps.

I voted 740 as big boxy RWD Volvo's are pretty much peak everyday estates in my experience.

I voted for the Mitsubishi, on the basis of the engine and tail lights.

I do have a soft spot for Volvo and merc estates, but the Mitsubishi feels a bit more special with the bigger engine in this lineup.

The Carlton would have been the winner for me, if it had a bigger engine. I’ve always thought that they’re really good looking cars.

I'd go with the Carlton, always had a soft spot for them and they did me a good turn a few times way back.

It is rather like asking which is your favourite child though, obviously the correct answer is you love them all equally, but all parents know that can change day to day or even hour to hour.
