Late registration madness

That was at the Ford show at Bath and West showground - the pic was taken either yesterday or today.

The car is a export GT model (hence the Super side trim) which went to South Africa when new, came back to the UK in 1980 hence the V plate.

There was a nice row of Mk1 Cortinas there at the show, including a mint B reg 4 dr that has been in a recent Practical Classics. Also a 'Savage' Mk3 4dr which was bought by Mr Barings (of the now defunct bank) for his wife in 1972.

L plate merc 190s. The successor c class was launched around the L plate intro, so the last of the old dealer stock went out on an L. This one i picked up a few weeks ago as a project car. ST is an Inverness registration, not often seen in Devon!

^^^ I recognise that car, you must be matb that's just joined the 190 forum then? Thought I recognised the 126 in the pictures.

The last 190s built were the LE models (all on L reg), so yes, L plated non LEs are quite rare. My old brown 2.0 was built late '92 but not registered until mid '93. Probably because brown wasn't exactly fashionable then...

There's also a white 2.6 190 on ebay on an M plate, that does look weird. Not as weird as the 02 reg one on there a few years ago though!

This Peugeot 406 is for sale on eBay right now for £4,995, with "200" miles on the clock (actually 400 miles). It was stored unused until May 2011, and is a 2.0 litre petrol automatic version with a high specification including a full leather interior!

Fuck a duck. Five grand? I'd hit it.

That's amazing :) why is the speedo in kms though? Irish import?

Spec is a bit high for the Irish market - 2.0/leather/auto/alloys/climate

My money's on it being a Jap import.

How late did they sell K11 Micras?

I didn't even click but my mate replaced his R-reg K11 with an 03-plate K11 the same as this one. Didn't occur it was particularly late... I'll need to snag a pic.
