That will have been ten to three when the advertised maintenance was taking place?

A visa is so much more autoshite than a three series BMW.

Had a horrible day at work today, shit job in a shit place in shit weather. Got home to find a fucking speeding fine NIP letter waiting for me!

36 in a 30 apparently, in the Volvo. Tbh I remember exactly when and where it was too and did wonder if it (mobile camera van) got me, so at least it wasn’t unexpected. There’s a form on the back I’ve got to return and a box to tick if you want considering for an awareness course instead of fine & points so hopefully I’ll get that instead since I’ve not had anything before this.

As much as I fucking hate the underhand little snakes in those camera vans, maybe going on the course might be a bit of a wake up call? Maybe see the best in a bad situation!

I went to one. If you can work it so the cost of the course and the time off work etc is preferable to the fine and the points (Im my case absolutely was worth it) then do it, I found it to be a bit of a giggle, some team-building kind of stuff to do with motoring. Because I'm a bit pedantic I found the update on the infrastructure and the implied speed limits (where signs are not present or when you have missed them) to be fascinating, and so are the speed limits for van-derived cars such as the PSA thing (Berlingo, partner, C4picasso type things). I don't drive one of those so I get to be smug.

There was only a small amount of didactic crap, on the whole it wasn't the worst thing and i didn't get three points.

Do you have to tick the box requesting to be considered for the course, then I assume if they allow you to do it they then let you book it yourself?

Ive looked online and they seem to be ok courses, and there’s one local too which is good...

Yes tick the box for consider for course. Takes a while to come back.

Then go online, local ones come up first with times and prices.

Pick one that suits, then just turn up. Surprising how many fail to arrive, about 5 missing on my course.

Cheers chaps! It’s good to know a bit about it all before I do it.

Ive had 18 years driving so far and this is my first time in the poo! Tbh, i don’t care how much the course costs or the alternative fine, it’s the points I really really don’t want. I want my license to stay clean.

Ill get the form filled in and returned this weekend then just wait and see. Hopefully I can turn a negative into a positive and get something out of the course.

Exactly the same speed as me. Do the course it's a doddle.

Around £80, differs in different areas. You can go to the place and time that suits you.

Book online.  Mine was 15 mins from home and morning to get it over with.

Makes you think for a couple of days and then you forget all about it.

I got caught about 6 years ago in Bournemouth doing 37 in a 30. Was shiting it a bit as I had 3 points on my licence from two years before that. Company insurance would take a dim view of 6 points on licence.

Speed awareness rules mean that you can't take a course within 3 years of your last one.

Luckily for me though, Dorset was the only county that wasn't part of the national speed awareness course and they ran their own one which I qualified for ?

Meant I had to travel to Blandford Forum from Bristol for it but I had a client in the town so did it during my VERY exentend lunch break!

Looks like I'm gonna be up all night, sick dog. Not Phoebe for once, Chester! Worst case of squits and throw- up I've ever known a dog to have, poor sod. Neighbours must think I;m mad as I've been outside multiple times washing my path and the pavemet outside the gate.

To be honest the only difference is 60 limit on a dual carriageway, but most people don't realise it. Not sure how much it's enforced. See goods vehicle not more than 7.5 t MLW https://www.gov.uk/speed-limits

Same here, though I strongly suspect it's a squirrel so that's ok as it's a posh rat.  Plus I can reassure the wife that we don't have a ghost as it's only the squirrel (scratching, scraping, scurrying, gnawing through wires making the lights flicker etc).

Some arsehole managed to partially block the extremely tight entrance to my works car park this morning with their cuntish parking and I managed to nick the side of the car on the wall coming in ? very light scrapes just above the rear wheel arch. Managed to buff most of it away just with a wet cloth, wee bit of T Cut should sort it. Fucking raging with myself though, never bumped a car in 10 years driving yet ! And typically I do it to one that has mint bodywork.

We had that, bastards chewed up 2 junction boxes. We then wasted spent too much money on a specialist pest firm. In the end I got a £12ish ultrasonic plug-in repeller from Homebase and put it in the loft on an extension lead - not a peep since!

Thanks, but I've got one and the battery went flat yesterday 1/5th of the way trying to cut through it! Now charged and ready for action.

When did it become the norm to sell a car with only a couple of months MOT? Sorry but I'm not paying over a grand for something 14/15 years old with hardly any MOT. Years ago you could'nt get rid of a £500 snotter unless it had at least six months ticket.

In other news, after a sleepless night with the royal shitbag, he is now fast asleep under the duvet and snoring hapilly. I on the other hand feel like death as wondering around at 6:00 am with a dog in the freezing cold and rain whle wearing just a 'T' shirt and tracky bottoms is not condusive to god health. Off to sleep in a minute... I hope.

Just ask if you can make the sale conditional on passing an MOT which you are present at.

Watch them panic.

Them speed awareness courses don't work.  I got done for speeding 6 weeks after attending one. DOH.

20 minutes of scrubbing has it looking 99.99999% better, hopefully the polish can tidy up the more heavy scuff a bit, I do know someone who has a bodyshop but won't have a free day for weeks

I dont use tapatalk

but I did notice that when you uploaded a picture using them, the picture was/is uploaded to a tapatalk server then embedded into the post as an external image

said image is not actually uploaded to autoshite!

so should Tapatalk go bust or pull a Photobucket on us, a shit load of threads are going to be screwed!

its one of the reasons why, if im quoting someone's something invacar related in my thread and I see the image in their post is from an external source, ill download the image, then reupload it directly to autoshite

that way A I have a copy on my computer, and B should that external source go pop, the image is still kept alive because iv uploaded it directly to autoshite :)

so yeah, be weary of how you upload photos because you might not actually be uploading them to Autoshite and you dont know it!

Has entry clearance already been granted, or are you merely being asked to provide more evidence of meeting the maintenance requirement?
