I'm feeling guilty as fook. Just had a text then a phonecall from someone who used to be a really good friend but I've barely seen for the past year,  to ask to borrow a large sum of money. I know I shouldn't but I just feel so bad....  I've tried to keep in touch this last year but he never picks up the phone or replies to texts when I've contacted him. Now he wants to borrow dosh.

Someone wants you to loan him a significant amount of cash, but can't even be arsed to pick up the phone and talk to you about it? It'd have to be a FRO.

I thought you could still tax at the PO if you wanted to?

Just leave it for a couple of days man, it makes fuck all difference to anything

I'm going to give this method a go, I really can't see the SWAT team leaping into action because the car in a garage on private land out of sight has been out of tax for a few hours. Because it seems like it's me, ShiteRider and 1/12th of the car owning population of the UK up shit creek.

If you're wrong though, I'm filing an official complaint with the internet people about you.

Last year a mate who I (sadly) rarely see lent me £400 to go on holiday with him, at the time telling me "Just pay me back when the credit card bill comes in". I keep asking for his bank details but he never tells me. (Although I'd struggle to pay him back right now anyway!)

I haven't done the ZX yet. Tried this afternoon, but it was down. Phones were down, too. It's not like I won't do it at all, although I'm tempted, seeing as it's going to take an ANPR interceptor to catch me, and there aren't many of them round here!

Fitted new discs and pads to the Astra on Saturday as the discs were knackered. Noticed the ends of the flexible pipes were very rusty.   Crawled under the back on Tuesday to rub down the rusty pipes my dad mentioned were on the previous advisory. No rust only on the tiny pipes going into the rear drums so did them and the flexis that were rusted like the fronts.

Washed and did the whole car with Autoglym Paint Renovator then normal polish, I've not cleaned it for months.

Dropped it for it's mot today, called me a bit later, one of the front pipes has broken and pissed fluid all over so test not finished. That'll be moving the calipers while doing the discs then.

So now it needs all 4 flexis doing as they are rotten.

Tax ran out today too.   Arse.   :-(

There's nothing like replacing flexi's on a car, they rarely get changed on any car.

On popular old cars they are always really cheap anyway. I can get four for the Starion for about 20 quid (whereas brake discs are 90 quid EACH).

Somebody made me an offer for the fiesta.

To be honest even clean low mileage ones seem to sell for around £600 tops. This one is is the dogs bollocks and has 54k from new.

I think I will pull the ad and keep it.

Because I keep a record of what I've borrowed and from whom, it's surprising how often friends insist I never borrowed anything.  Imagine a long-standing friend's surprise when he was after a piece of A2 art and found that money he loaned me ages ago covered it, money that he wanted me to forget about.  It's bloomin useful being able to pay with creative stuff, especially when I'm struggling to get cash together.

Oh, this appears to have become a grin.

Surely, that's a collectors* item which will fetch enough on ebay to cover the additional £36/year !

I'm kind've thinking this is someone on here (Zafira, etc), but I'm also kind've thinking that this might be serious as this is what I've come to expect from ebay lol!

Got home from work at 5am this morning to discover the garden shed broken into. brand new petrol strimmer and my claude butler pushbike gone. Might be other stuff to, can't really remember what else was in there! So today I'm going to be emptying anything of value out and bringing it into the house. Thankfully my toolbox seems intact, going down there in a minute to see what else is gone. Can't afford to replace things and won't be claiming on house insurance as I remember how much the premiums went up the last time i was burgled.

Think I would reply with    'Would you also like a full tank of petrol with that?' 'How about a £50 Halfords voucher so you can also purchase any nessasary accessories for the car'? 'Anything else just let me know then we can arrange transportation'

That's hilarious. The FSH and floor mats comments make me think it must be someone on here.

God I HATE being abroad. Counting down the minutes until I can come home to the UK. Bird is in pool, I am fine in the apartment where I dont have to interact with anyone at all. No HDMI cable though to connect phone to telly so cant watch catch up. There are some DVDs though.

The backup plan

12 years a slave

Nancy Drew

Stripper Academy

Hmmm, what should i watch. I think that Chiwetel Ejiofir is an amazing actor but so is Julie Costello who was apparently the "Juggy girl on the man show". Tough choice.

I wouldn't mind but this is exactly what happened last week as well.

I'm thinking the same - I pay £23 for 'ultimate' cover, but can get the same by upgraded my (never used) credit card to Platinum and pay £17 a month for the same (and get travel insurance).
