I use flvto.biz to rip youtube to audio and video formats. seems to work for me. You can choose the file format it downloads them to as well

Can hardly wait to find out who kicked the jack out from under the car I was working on.

The suspension is killing me.

We all laugh but when I was about 12 I was playing out and heard a call for help. Obv pre Jimmy Saville days where you were lucky to get a cup of your balls and a sweet I ran over and this guy was half under the front of his car, was only up by the jack and it had slipped.

I jack it back up and he got out and was OK, and that abiding memory is why I use a stand and the jack again on the corner I'm working on.

He did come round with a bag of sweets later and told my mum what had happened though. I saw him about a few more times after that too... But then he vanished

Current tactic is googling for file converter reviews and using the top rated free one.  If I'm not online for a week you will now know why.

If it's something you can get on YouTube, use clipconverter.cc to download just the audio from it (select mp3 rather than download).

Is Real Player still a thing?  I last used that in about 1998.

I last used it last week.....Aye there are probably dozens of newer/better ideas but it works for me!

Sorry to complely ignore everyone but before you responded I downloaded Freemake which the reviewers said was the only free one not to add other things.  It seems good and easy to use so I downloaded their video downloader too.  That works well enough but wants me to upgrade to premium to download videos longer than 3 mins so will probably get binned soon.  I never really intended to install a video downloader in the first place as I'm generally happy to stream stuff but while its here I'll grab a few tracks from rich bands that won't miss my money.  If I get on with these new fangled mp3 things I might buy some tracks from the smaller bands I like (such as The Skints appropriately enough).

There's a cracking converter built into Ubuntu! I've used to to make some ogg files I downloaded into mp3 before.

Audacity is good, too.

For converting files, at least. Not downloading from YouTube.

Mobile phone updates can get in the fucking sea.

With every update they change stupid pointless shit and have now made it worse than ever.

Why move a clock? Why change icons? Why change the entire Bluetooth menu so it no longer connects properly? Why change more icons? Why change volume settings to something that is broken? WHY????

Because it justifies them charging more money for a worse service.

Pissed me off two. If it's not broken don't mess with it no longer applies.

Do people who can’t park have kids just so they use the parent/toddler spaces? judging by the parking at Asda I think the answer is yes.

I agree. Mine updated about three weeks ago and everything changed. I'm just starting to get used to it now. Even trying to make a phone call is a total pain in the ass. Everything is worse imo.

Jesus what kind of phone is this?

I'm actually enjoying monthly updates with Android One

My Samsung recently updated. For the worse. They've hidden how to disable the sodding Bixby button. The camera is now a bigger pain in the arse to use too. So bad I'm actually starting to wonder if I should buy an actual camera...

Aye, Samsung always used to be bad for stupid functions you don't want

You can download different camera apps which can improve it.

Same with Bixby - I used nova launcher which creates your own layout which doesn't change as it updates

Motorola, update to android 9. The phone was ace when I bought it. Now after 4 'security' updates the software operates worse, navigates worse and looks worse than ever before.

Shame, I've had a few Moto's and enjoyed having them and found them extremely user friendly with great features. This update caper is not reselling it to me.

+1 for Nova Launcher. I've been using it on 3 phones on the trot now.

Dare I ask, though, WTF is Bixby?

There's a strip of grass on our shared driveway and a mystery local dog walker is allowing their pooch to shit all over it and doesn't pick it up. I've been trying to find out who it is but with no luck, I guess if anyone is out and about on the shared driveway the dog walker doesn't let their dog crap on the grass maybe.

Popped out for 30 mins, come back and there's another huge pile of shite for me to clean up. The phantom shitter has struck again.

When I find out who is is can I rub the owners nose in it? follow them home, tie the turd to a brick and throw it through their living room window? Should I just accept it and clean up after them forever?

And this is why I don't have an expensive car in Bristol. The white mark and the crease above it can only be from another (white) car door hitting it with some force.

Assuming you can identify the miscreant, lay in a supply of ziplock bags and envelopes and post the shite back to them without stamps.

Put up a notice to the effect that CCTV is monitoring the area from several locations and that once identified the culprit will be covertly followed and the offending dog shit smeared across their front step.

I guess a real camera isn't much more expensive... although the neighbours put up a camera while back and took it down because the amount of odd goings on really scared them.. their thinking was that if they didn't know it didn't matter.

Fckin nosey old curtain twitchers rant.

I moved to a new house late last year in a nice area, the house itself is down a private cul-de-sac with limited parking, the landlord has both his car and van on the drive so I have to leave the car on the public side road at the end of the cul-de-sac.  This is a quiet dead end road with mostly bungalows and old/older people, its a very quiet area and the road is 80% empty as they all have driveways.  Before christmas I had an old boy moan about the car being parked outside his house even though he has a drive and doesn't park on the road, he later apologised one day and went on to pay compliments to the Rover so I tend to stick to this place now, I also had some clever dick leaving one of the wiper arms up and I think it was some bloke across the road so a polite but stern note went in the side window advising this person the car is taxed, Mot'd so politely keep your grubby hands off my car, and that stopped...

This week I moved the car to a different space outside a different house with two elderly people  (seen them a couple of times) with an old transit camper on their drive but have no car and there is never a car outside this house.  Last night I came home to a note on the car saying not to park here if I don't live down this road.  I had been to the pub (walked home) and was close to reversing the car through their front wall after being pee'd off with all this bollox, instead thought better and stayed on the right side of the law, posted the notices in the side windows confirming the cars current tax and mot and left it.   The only reason I moved it there for a few days was because the neighbour further down where I usually park was having loads of work done and I didn't want the car in their way, what with lorries and trucks delivering soil / stones etc...

This kind of petty 'we own the road outside our house' attitude has pi$$ed me off this time, nosey old curtain twitchers that NEVER EVEN PARK ON THE ROAD ffs, because they have driveways.

Another neighbour I noticed was quickly moving one of his cars off the drive to park outside his house after I moved my car before only to then to put his car back on the drive again, just so I couldn't come back and park there. Pathetic really..

To confirm this is a wide straight side road, a public road with no parking restrictions, not parked over or near anyone's driveway entrance.

At my local Asda you have:

Store

Row of disabled spaces

Row of parent and child spaces

Rest of car park

I was there at the weekend, and as I unlocked the car, a guy (on his own, 30-ish) in a Polo parked across an empty disabled space a few metres down from me and stuck his hazards on. He waited while I put a full trolley of shopping in the boot, got my son in his seat (which involves trying to pin him down, going round to the other side of the car to where he's run away to and then giving up and bribing him with CBeebies), picked some music to put on and adjusted my seat, all of which I did as slowly as possible. I reckon I was there an easy five minutes, and he took the space as I left. All of the while, there was an empty standard space directly in front of me...
