30% over other available examples?

Buy one of those then.

No other examples available?

Vendor gets to set the price.

30% of the price of most of our crap is a only the price of a pint anyway :-)

When some knobjockey drove into my parked Discovery I got paid out three times what I'd paid for the car and kept it...Not so good was the 18 months of hassle over the hire car charges and eventual court case.

Not really a grump more a facepalm.

In the ask a shiter thread I enquired about a Freelander with no rear prop. The chap had taken it to another mot station who had failed the car for not having a rear propshaft.Anyway, I got his reg number and checked the fail sheet. This other garage had obviously jumped the gun and told the customer a missing prop was a failure then couldn't find it on the system. They failed it for propshaft securing bolt missing aswell as handbrake and a sidelight. The customer asks if I would fail it so I told him no not if he fixed the other things."but the handbrake works" he said. "I'll bring it to you on Saturday" Told him it would have to be 9 O'clock as I'm going to Maxey car show.

What do you think it failed on ?    Yup a sidelight and nearside handbrake not working...He seemed shocked that two separate brake rollers would give similar results.

Despite washing my working clothes on a 90 degree wash and two showers, I still stink of diesel!

Arseholes on YouTube who pad out about 30 seconds of actual content to ten minutes, particularly Americans with their pointless weasel words.

"Ok guys thanks for clicking my video, remember to subscribe guys, it's that button down there. So me and my buddy Gregg were round at his place and he's a really cool guy, anyway he has a 1990 Honda. Lets go right ahead and jump into this guys"

Get to the point you fucking clownshoe.

Soaking in vinegar shifts diesel smells.

The handbrake does work - it doesn’t roll away on a hill. And this is the sum total understanding of most people. I look after a neighbours car and when I pre MoT it for her every year it always needs adjustment as for some reason the drivers side always goes ineffective after a few months. She cannot get her head around it as she parks on a slope and the car is still there the next day. I have tried and tried to explain how not only do both sides have to work, they also have to work about the same amount but to no avail. I am sure she thinks I am wasting my time when I jack it up and fiddle about getting it right. To her I guess it never feels any different. It’s due it’s check tomorrow morning as it happens, I guarantee it will be out again this year.

I'd say Sheppey is the more dangerous place. Thaneteers only have 6 toes on each foot, Sheppey folk have up to as many as 9.

Rac did the same to me.

RAC increased my payment to well over new start rate, I rang and told them I was joining Green Flag.

They reduced my payment to below the new joining fee and promised to hold the price for 2 years.

Have just got my renewal, went down £1,

Always worth complaining.

There used to be a website called sheppeyscum.com

Helping a mate search for a suitable motor on ebay, I came across an ad stating: "Only 1 Doctor owner..."  why do used car dealers still use these cheesy phrases?

Experience has taught me that while a suitably qualified medical professional with a nimble finger and can reassure me that my prostate is not enlarged, they are generally not good at looking after their cars.

My car is an ex Doctors car, whilst he didn’t seem to have much clue judging by a lack of DIY receipts he was happy to pay for BMW to fettle it for 15 straight years.

I had a jag s type that was owned by a local doctor according to the salesman.

It was battered.

I didn't know Mr magoo was a doctor.

Yeah, I had a v70 that was owned by a lady with the title Dr. It was totally battered. I can't see that title being any use to determine if a car is any good.

Just noticed a crack on the Mondeos bumper. It hasn’t even been anywhere for a week. Fucking bumpers on those manage to crack on their own without any impact whatsoever. Amazing. What a car! Self damaging.

My mk1 fiesta was a "one old lady owner".. but i expect she was a hot milf when she bought it new , and thrashed the living daylights out of it !

Good job it wasn't owned by The Doctor otherwise it would be covered in Paintwork Rectification, you'd have to tow a trailer containing the history of it since Dorothy Prolapse bought it new from Honk and Twaddle (Great Botheringham) Ltd and you can't park it without laying down some gravel first.

My Father in Law has all the mechanical sympathy of a sado-masochist on the drug Cialis.

Still. He’s a Doctor. Not of medicine, but of physics.

Still. Doctor.

Premium price.

There are some knowledgeable people on here when it comes to legal matters

On one of the mustang forums a guy bought a 2014 mustang LHD from a U.K. Dealer , he's had it 2 years but it's still on finance , had no end of problems with it, latest being the steering rack failing at 35,000 miles

So somebody in the US puts his vin number into a database and finds this

IMG_1193.PNG

Other side is worse

He's found out it was bought to the UK like that , fixed and sold on but as it was written offoutside the UK doesn't show up on HPI , not sure if the dealer that sold it fixed it

Finance company say he's had it too long to do anything about it but there must be something he can do, I thought finance co were jointly liable

I live in the Middle East and there’s a big problem with people buying up salvage title US cars and lashing them up for resale. Lots of flood damaged cars too. It’s got to the point where most insurance companies won’t touch US imports and those that do charge double and will only give third party cover.

On the other hand,it’s really easy to get a Carfax report on a US market car so Caveat Emptor and all that.
