Around my way every other car is a BMW, Audi, or Mercedes so it is statistically more likely that any shit driving or parking will be in one of those cars.

 

In the 80's where every other car here was a mark 2 Fiesta I don't recall thinking "all Fiesta drivers are c*nts". Maybe because they were that much slower and easier to park!

 

As some of you will know my personal bugbear is Addison Lee people carriers. Compared to one of those, even the angriest BMW driver is a paragon of competence and consideration. They may not use indicators and drive too close at impossible speeds but at least they are usually looking forwards which is a big plus compared with Addison Lee's average pilot.

I don't think a lot of it is jealousy on someone with an "ordinary" car. There are a large number of idiot drivers in the South & South East who use badge snobbery, and think because they have a premium marque they own the road - mainly those who are company reps, or those who want to show off they've got a turbo/M badge/AMG by doing thirteenty-million miles an hour on any road they can. Doesn't help where everyone on the road in this region appears to be in a big hurry as well. Many Mercs etc in the area I live, but loads of [insert non-German car brand here] drivers around here who drive and park like total dickheads as well. I just think the Audi people get a bad name because of the rep mobile thing.
