Drives and pulls fine, no left pullage so must be sorted. Still got the suncream handprint which I had to note down, alloys are shedding thier paint, interior hasn't been hoovered or valeted but it appears to have had a quick wash and tyre shine slapped on so quite a presentable and likeable little car.

No CDs found in player but I haven't tried putting any CDs in, will look tomorrow.

Chances are it will just ignore you like a petulant child, no,error messages, nowt. We look after our cars generally so inside isn't bad for a car that's been a family hack for five years. It was a super reliable car for us but I hated it if I am honest. I don't know why, I just never ever gelled with it but my wife loved it.

Driving to High Wycombe this morning (from Reading) was the absolute pits. I have never had such an ordeal of a journey. To make matters worse I had to park in the Eden Centre for over 8 hours too, meaning I was charged £20 for the privilege*.

 

Also, being kicked out at the end of the week, despite me arranging housing for the mid-end of November. Nothing like moving to remind you of all the crap you have.

Marlow Bridge is closed after a 30 ton lorry went over it so everything uses thr a404, and if the m25 is fucked every cunt uses it.

 

Ive been coming into marlow via marlow bottom for the past month to avoid the a404 leaving that way too.

I use cruise control 'cos I am a  lazy bastard, if held up a quick press of 'resume' and it's back to speed, so much easier than all that tedious pressing the throttle nonsense

 

Also discovered (reading the handbook is quite enlightening!) that the turbo is restricted/not used until the engine is up to temp which is why some days it feels a bit flat after the one serious chicane on a steep hill. I really should:

 

A, read the fucking handbook sooner than a year after purchase...

 

B, use the bastard car more so it actually warms up!

 

Lights: my car has 'automatic lights' and they come on if the brightness outside drops below the need for sunshades and factor 50 sun-block! They are a bit 'keen' but, again saves the need for all the strenuous turning of a light control if it actually gets dark/dim

I did some 6 months of trade plating whilst waiting for me first full sized car transporter lorry to become available, this would have been around 89/90, its was a crap job then when lorry drivers were still allowed to give lifts and other platers didn't blow you into the ditch as they sped past as you were trying to get a lift, i walked bloody miles and it hasn't got any better since.

 

There were good days though and luckily cos i had a lorry licence i could get lots more well paying jobs, but its not something i would do again.

It's not the screen, as I'm sure you well know, It's the utterly mindless nature of it. Just smash a car up, for what? And what do we as a society do about it? Shrug our shoulders, claim on insurance, bend over and take it. Hell, even if the police did catch them either the CPS would let them go or the judge would let them off.

 

There are no consequences any more, scrotes have nothing to fear and they know it, which is why this sort of cuntery is accepted as normal.

It's an IP ban, and if you're on everyday run of the mill broadband your IP changes every few days, out of a pool shared with thousands of people in your area.

 

So there's every chance someone nearby-ish has pissed them off and you've chanced onto the address they were using at the time. You could try unplugging your broadband for a minute to get it to generate a new IP address, but they might have blocked a range of them.

My mobile has a block on tinypic saying the ipadress has a ban for improper use (which I haven't done) but is fine on the home broadband so maybe try a going on via wi-fi.

Ok, same applies but instead of unplugging just toggle aeroplane mode for a bit.

If that doesn't work, they've blocked a range which is a pretty stupid thing to do so probably just drop them an email and explain that it's not a fixed IP

MrsD only ever fills up when the light is flashing...and popped £10 of diesel in her Yaris without realising and drove it till it died... yes I know there is probably a joke in there somewhere about her being used to the nozzle not fitting..... she rang the RAC who said yes we can fix it but it will cost £200...... 200 fucking quid !!! luckily she had the sense to ring me first... went over with a jerry can of petrol got it running and drove it to the petrol station to fill it up..... Its fine now but I will change the fuel filter which is a fiver.....
