That Carina E is actually quite intriguing to me.  It's a P reg 1.8 GS in metallic aquamarine so should in theory be identical to mine, but it isn't - the seats are different and it doesn't have the chrome grille or front fogs.  Most odd.

Not really. Cars over 30 years old have to be checked every two years, this one had its last inspection in April '22.

I was checking the RDW app before I read your comment.

3 previous owners APK (inspection) is due  21/04/2024. It is registered as having been exported. The last change of named owner was 20/01/2023.

The NA 2.3's are anemic but the 5.0 V8 are the American escort.

Seconded. Fox body Mustangs are one of the most tuneable American cars of the period. They're not 'trading on former glories' at all.

TBH, most Sixties Mustangs are hopeless, gutless posing pouches as standard, that don't go, steer, or stop; their saving grace is that, thanks to decades of accumulated knowledge, they can be made to go and handle very well indeed.

Form a queue.  I’m sure there’s a terrible advert thread somewhere but this’ll do for now

mark 2 granny estate £3500 start Bury St Edmunds. It's got the same colour scheme as the Sapphire limited edition - theres no mention of it being one in the listing, and I don't know if they were available as an estate? Plenty of Ford fans on here will know.  @Shite Ron @sheffcortinacentre @sierraman and anyone else who knows....

Didn’t that have as little as 140bhp in some cars?

The Mustang 11 & early fox's bodies did but by the late 80's the power was back especially the more important torque figures.

That is lovely, 1979 was the first year a Ghia estate was available, as above the Sapphire was only available as a saloon but many midnight blue estates had a silver bottom half respray back in the eighties.
