Autoshite's official for sale/wanted thread

I don't know what ratio it was but I might be able to find out. I think - think- that this age of LDV used BL parts. This is the one with the Peugeot dismal engine in it.

They look like transit 6 stud rims - if it is the transit axle with a decent ratio i.e. 4.63 or faster then it's worth serious coin on it's own as they are rocking horse poo! Does it have power steering?

If you have the space I would be inclined to hold on to it for a few years - prices of them are beginning to rise along with the value of decent mk3 transits. Film work would be a possibility..

Clutch 9-1/2" for Classic Jaguar 3.8, 4.2, E-Type S-Type, etc. Probably is a HK.9702

See my ebay listing < here >   now SOLD

Bought from Ken Jenkins, Carlton Auto Ltd just a few years ago when I had a 3.8ltr 1966 S-Type.  Prior to my ownership, that car had been converted from automatic to manual with overdrive ..and the transmission fitted was from a 4.2 XJ6.  This clutch was bought new to be fitted when I had that gearbox rebuilt. However the existing clutch was clearly almost new, and so this one ended up on my shelf.

If I recall correctly the three piece set cost over £275 with postage.

The pressure plate / diaphragm then is new, but it has been in storage (..see photos / read on).

The clutch friction plate and the trust bearing are each used ..but as you can see hardly worn. (..see photos

The pressure plate got wet when the garage leaked, but I hadn't realised it until slight damage was done.  It was sitting with a piece of paper across its face between it and the friction plate ..seemingly capillary action drew water across it. And there it sat until surface corrosion settled in.  I've clean it up with a rotary wire brush, but you can see in the photos how the steel pitted.  It's not deep and I'm sure would not be an issue at all (..after all cars which have been sitting, their rusty clutches work fine again after bedding in).  But it is clearly visible and so knocks a big chunk off the price. Unfortunate for me, but hopefully a bargain for you.  Personally (and as an engineer) I'd have no issue with using it, but the choice is yours.

£75 + £8.50 p&p., or else collect from Ipswich

Why don’t you join a twitter group for that (no I’m not joking), then print the photos on photographic type paper? - Reason i suggested this is I came across a twitter group that I joined the other day which publishes pictures of West London many years ago. Why i like this is seeing how things once were.... for instance there was a picture of Hanger Lane from 1906 with one single car on it....one car!!!! Now what must there be....1,000 at any given time???

Wish I could travel back in time I tell you...

hi all,

I'm  in desperate need of an electric window mechananism and the central locking actuator for my 1989 nissan sunny, front passenger side, all 4 door windows were broke, and whilst i found the rest very easily and fixed them, i can't seem to find one for the front passenger side. if anyone has any nissan sunny bits knocking about id be really grateful, as i can't drive it at the minute as the door is in bits with the window out, and i don't really want to put it all back together only to have to take it all apart again lol.

drop me a mail if you have or know of a car in your local scrappy, anything at all please, as i'm desperate now, and getting peed off with it lol.

thanks in advance.

gary.

For free if you pay the postage:

Invacar hub shaft.

I bought a suspension arm for my fiat 500 years ago. The hub shaft was attached and the seller explained it had come from an invacar. It has the standard fiat 126 holes (4 × 98) plus 4 x studs for mini wheels.

I don't need any money for it and I'd rather not chuck something if it's useful to anyone.

you or the seller dont happen to have the rest of the Model 70 that it came from do you?

The seller had only that part left.

Not sure why he had it. He had no other parts or much interest in the invacar generally.

He may have had the attached swing arm as a fiat 500 spare

I had asked whether he knew whete to find some parts because I wanted a matching pair of swing arms and a steyr puch engine.

I'm mot really into invacars myself. In my day they had a different name and it was a bit rude.

I need a trailer in any condition. Or bits of trailer!

Condition unimportant as I will probably need to chop it up and remake it anyway.

Many thanks for the replies but I have just picked up a boat trailer locally off Freecycle. It's for moving my unfeasably heavy 1960s compressor. I'm going to make it so it is part of the trailer and easily movable in future

This is a Wanted thread, but having no money I'm offering a swop.  Key for key, no cash involved.

I want a Bedford CF.  It's over 30 years since my first one and I think well past time I repeated the experience.  Steel front rather than the later plastic grille; VX slant-four petrol engine rather than the Opel type, and absolutely NO DIESELS; preferably a plain van body rather than a camper or truck.  Oh and it needs to be legal and running fairly reliably.  Not like I'm asking for much!

I'm offering the Giffer Rover.  It does have its own thread: http://autoshite.com/topic/28899-collection-of-yet-another-rover-accomplished/  I bought it blind off ebay last summer and it's a lovely car.  MoT is due in March but this is how confident I am: I'll put a new one on it if a suitable CF appears before then.  If the CF comes later, well the Rover will have a new ticket anyway.  It's a 2.0 auto with 42,000 miles up, and drives just as you would expect.

If the van comes from further than about 150 miles from me I would very much appreciate being able to meet at some suitable common point to do the handover.  Motorway service areas or supermarkets with integrated cafes would be ideal.

OK, maybe not entirely serious, but I clocked one round the corner from my house this morning and they look brilliant. Had been off my radar but small fuel efficient stylish estate and seem to be plenty of cheap ones about, presumably comfy and fun to drive in a french sort of way - what's not to like?

1.4 petrol appeals with cheap tax/insurance/ulez friendly.

I love my 205 but nine times out of ten the CR-V gets used for practicality reasons. One of these looks like being a bit more jolly and efficient, but equally practical...

First my brother in law had a problem with his Volvo:

      http://autoshite.com/topic/34710-2007-volvo-v70-d5-24-automatic-sold-new-owner-updates/?fromsearch=1

Then, earlier this week, someone broke into his house, found keys to his BMW and drove away in this:

There’s no way of knowing whether the BMW will ever be found.

BIL now urgently needs a reliable automatic estate car, MoTd and running, for up to £1k and located as close to High Wycombe as possible.

Does anyone know of a suitable steed?

Bit of an SOS here. I've got a couple of item's I've won on eBay in far flung locations and my work shedule has conspired to make collection difficult. I'd hoped to collect them on some upcoming cross country trip but unfortunately my employer has other ideas....

They have the flexibility to stand up the workforce to work 6 day weeks and have also extended our weekday working hours. They are blaming Brexit and trying to push production volumes as high as they can before the leave date.

I've got two collections outstanding and was wondering if theres anyone local who could collect on my behalf and either post onwards, or sit on them until I'm able to collect. Happy to cover any expenses. Petrol / Post / Beer Money.

      The Items are industrial lights,

The first Item is in Prestatyn - The Seller has said collection from Chester is also a possibility, they are 3 Fluorescent tube lights.

The second Items is in Lewisham, SE14 6QD, South london. And is a pair of explosion proof lights [ PLAN IN PLACE ]

If your able to help please pm me.

      Cheers
      Joe
